Bottle - HUGE head on this one. I had to drink it a half a glass at a time because of all the foam. Pillowy white head and a fizzy, cloudy yellow color to it. The taste is grass and lemon and mildly bitter and somewhat sour on the finish. Better than some of the Czech pilsner brews that Ive had lately.

Bottle share by Bob, hazy straw pour with a thin white head. Aroma of wheat, corn and sweet malt. Taste is some corn, grain and a light bitter finish.

12oz bottle pours a pale straw yellow with a small white head. Aroma of corn and malt. Taste like buttered corn with dry malt, honey, grain, with lightly bitter hops on the finish. Nope.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle. Wow - this is outstanding for this style of beer. Buttery grain, crisp and clean, no real flaws in this. Well done.

EHopper (620) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 12, 2012
Huge, creamy head even though it was poured very cold. Dissipates fairly quickly but very inviting. Nice fresh grain smell and just a very clean flavor. Light, but everything there, bread and earth, a bit of sweet, and a light dryness. Flavors came out more as it warmed. Good pilsner. Happy to have another.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head that dissipates quickly and nearly completely. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grains with a bit of grassy hops with a hint of cookie. Flavor is more balanced with sweet grains and crisp grassy hops with a bit of a sweet finish.

A pilsner. 90 degrees. Outdoor wedding. yes please may I have a six pack more....which is what I practically had. I enjoyed this. refreshing. simple. no strings attached. classic. I always have problems rating lagers because they never get high scores from others only because it isnt packing that hoppy punch or that dark magic. but there is something to be said about a well made pils and think Millstream did just fine. If you are in Iowa on your way to the largest truck stop in the nation (on I-80) find a place to pick up some Millstream. Its local. small and worth the try.

Pale gold with a fluffy white head. Cereal grain, bready yeast and florla and spicy hops to the nose. Flavor is a little on the weak side cereal grain, light malt sweetness, a little toast, sweet grass, floral, spicy and light citrus hops to the finish. Neutral to off dry feel with a somewhat light, but sharp carbonation. Not bad, a little on the watery side though.

Draft at Millstream. $3.25 for pint. I had a taster of this at first while trying their doppelbock, but decided to chase it down with this. Very pale in a glass taster, but theres a little more color to be seen in the larger cup, even if it is white plastic. A thin layer of fizz instead of the bubbly head of a canned lager. Toasty malt smell with a side of peppery Noble hops. Taste: well, I still have some of the doppel stuck to my tongue, but this is darn hearty. Clearly a full grain beer with a light pils toast. Interesting that the ingredient list above shows no real surprises in specialty grains. Its hard to find a pils with any great complexity by definition, but then again, I can appreciate a beer with everything a light lager should have and no shortcuts or off tastes. On the unseasonably warm March day that I tasted this, the cup warmed up enough to let a bit of ester off the beer. Happy little burp at the finish.
