Halloween rooftop rating session in the dark. Chicago, IL.
Dark reddish brown color with a small tan head.
Sweet toasted malt, sugary sweetness, pumpkin, spices and mild darkness in the aroma.
The flavor is sweet toasted malt, spices, licorice, cough syrup and pumpkin.
Not my idea of a good imperial stout nor a good pumpkin beer.
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Tap at Muddy Waters. Dark brown pour with a light tan head. This smells and tastes artificial - some spice and pumpkin, but artificially sweet. Pretty weak effort.

Bottle @ Dan’s house, courtesy of pepsiedcan. Deep brown appearance with a small tan head. Spicy, candy corn, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg aroma. A bit fruity, a bit veggie, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla bean, caramel flavor. Not bad but definitely nothing special. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 29, 2012

Keg @ Devils Advocate. Medium brown with a sma head. Nose is banana bread pudding. Vanilla and brown sugar.
Artificial seasonings. Flavor of raisins and batman bread . Sort of. Sweet hot mess. Nuts and pineapple. Full body, weird. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 18, 2012
12oz bottle. Poured cola brown with a short cap of tan head. The aroma picked up lots of semi-sweet chocolate and vanilla, with lesser pumpkin meat present.. some nutmeg and cloves joined in.. as it warmed up, vanilla really took over. The flavor was along the same lines.. vanilla dominated, with chocolate, molasses, and maple sugars all fighting for attention.. pumpkin meat shows toward the back.. dry nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon come on strong right at the finish. Medium-plus bodied with low-ish carbonation on the palate.. OK flow.. overall this was too sweet, with too much vanilla and too much going on in general. That said, I want to see every solid brewer out there do a pumpkin imperial stout.. I LOVE the concept! JStax (7125) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle thanks to pepsiedcan. Thanks. Pours a dense black with a beige head of foam that dissipates quickly to a ring around the edge of the glass. The aroma is sweet and coffeeish. Kind of like a pumpkin latte. The taste is very sweet. The artificiality is a little too much in the forefront.
