Pale Ale's on the coasts of this country are turning into hoppy monsters, but our beer is more mild, and about balance. It has enough bitterness to match the maltiness provided by the pale malt base. It gets its citrus zing from extensive dry-hopping with Cascade hops. This beer was first made in a few small test batches in 2003. The response was so incredibly positive, that it has worked it’s way into a year round beer. A hoppy IPA in the central plains... how exciting!

On tap at the Millstream Brewing Company beer garden. Maybe it was the fresh pour from the tap, or maybe it was the weather, or something like that, but I really enjoyed this on my recent Sunday visit to the Amana Colonies. So this is a relabelled version of Warsh Pail? It seems better to me, a fuller body, fuller mouthfeel, and more hops. The body is medium copper colored with a light khaki head. The aroma has some just-sliced grapefruit and light bread crust. There is also some nutty character. The taste has some out-of-the-oven bread crust with some light orange peels behind that. Very quaffable and quite likeable, a decent ale from Germans in Iowa.

12 oz. bottle. Lightly hazy orange in color. Aroma shows me weak grass clippings, mild caramel.

Flavor of a caramel malt backbone, light floral, and mild pine. Weak bitterness. Not bad but more a APA rather than an IPA classification. Just mildly ok.

For ABV a very impressive ipa. Nice hop smooth grassiness. REally what you want at this abv. Not to much hop not to much malt. Long lasting head. No off flavors. Wow. This is impressive.

This was a gift from a friend who usually gives me beer of the month offerings.Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Nose of floral and citrus hops. Medium body. Flavor is caramel malts and the floral and citrus hops there were in the aroma. Finishes lightly bitter. More like an APA than an IPA no matter what part of the country you are in.

Bottle. Orange with active carbonation and a decent sized white head. Floral, golden raisins, corn bread and honey. Tastes just like it smells, light balanced sweet and dry finish. Body is lighter with a foamy feel.
