Clear golden color. I can agree that there is more raspberry than tripel here, but at the same time, where’s the raspberry? Not a particularly bold or distinctive demonstration of a good concept. (at 2015 Summer Beer Dabbler, St. Paul, MN)

A pretty good beer, more raspberry than tripel, though. A little Belgian spicyness peeks through the fruity character.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of pepsiedcan. RESPECT MALT LIKKA, MY BRO. Pours a hazy orange appearance with a small, off white head. The aroma is actually pretty nice with a rich raspberry puree nose. Somewhat syrupy, thick raspberry dessert bar, a bit tart, kind of chewy flavor. Actually, it really just tastes like a raspberry dessert bar. Wow, this sounded fucking stupid as fuck but I’d totally love to beer bong and get completely fucked on this shit. They just don’t make shit these days like this that is so easy to get fucked up on. Super easy to get buzzed quick on this 9.5% abv kid’s drink. Best Iowan Raspberry beer that I’ve had so far in 2013.

12oz bottle. I’d guess anyone slagging this beer has never tried to make a raspberry tripel before. Big sweet golden malt body, but an even bigger pronounced raspberry flavor. Unfiltered orange-pink-tan body, thin steady white head. The raspberry really balances out the big malt and maybe candi sugar. Brutal and full bodied, but also a pretty enjoyable venture.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. The aroma is raspberries, syrup, floral, slight grainy malts. The flavor is syrup, raspberries, sugar, slight bitterness. This is very sweet and cloying. The raspberries come across as raspberry syrup.

Bottled. Poured slightly hazy golden with a short-lived whitish head. The aroma picked up mostly sweet raspberries (with some tart seediness) over warm, mostly honey-inspired sugars and some ripe banana.. the raspberry was jammy, and it came across a bit too sweet. The flavor found sweet honey and some bready malts at the core.. lots of somewhat cloying raspberry character and a hit of ripe banana around.. finished very sweet with raspberries and grainy malts. Medium-bodied with tight, prickly carbonation on the palate.. too focused on the raspberries, and too sweet, but OK-ish overall.

Bottle. A rich deep orange brew with a thin white head. The nose has some massive raspberry and dough. There is also a light nutty character. The taste starts with dough and finishes with a fair amount of raspberries. However, this is not very sweet, while retaining a solid raspberry character. There is also a little hint of leather funk. This had a thick mouth feel. A nice fruit beer and surprisingly good for Millstream.

Draft at the Millstream tap room. The sign at the tap shows this is 8% abv, not 9.5%. But there may be widely different batches. A bubbly amber colored beer, with the bubbles ebbing to a thin layer of foam. I can’t smell much, for some reason, and my nose ISN’T stuffy at this time. Just get some malt in the nose. Malt is thick; I spilled some on my hand and it’s very sticky. The blend of tripel and raspberry hits it pretty right. Fuity sweetness is not overly done, and the result may be drier than the usual tripel. Taste of unfiltered yeast may be keeping the fruit taste down, too. Thick mouthfeel. A slight grainy smell once I get to the bottom.

Not a very special pour, and surprisingly lackluster with just an amber color. Aroma is really light. Caramel and malts quickly replaced by lots of raspberry flavor. Not bad overall.

Pours a light crimson, translucent, looks somewhat dull. Aroma of ripe raspberries, very striking, reminds me of a raspberry lambic, however this doesn’t translate well in the flavor, somewhat flat raspberries are almost non-existant in the flavor, however has a crisp clean aftertaste
