A true "Flussiges Brot" or liquid bread. Malted wheat is carefully blended with the traditional malted barley, and brewed with special hops to create a "Summer Fest" beer. Light and zesty in itself, the beer is served in a tall glass with a slice of lemon.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2008 12 oz bottle, Oct. 10, ’08. Worth a revisit, now that I have the experience of a few more wheat beers behind me. Golden pour with a little haze, a very brief and fizzy head, then nothing. Light malt smell with a bit of bread yeast in the mix. Taste is okay, but lacks the fine effervescence of a wheat beer. Some grains, not very smooth. "Liquid bread" is right, I’m afraid. Notes of wheat malt not easy to distinguish. But it probably was better from the brewer’s tasting tap.
Original rating: Nov. 5, ’03. 6-4-7-4-15, total 3.6. Draft, at the brewery. Thinking back, I believe this was the first microbrew I ever had, way back in the 1980’s. Today’s pour was a nice-looking, heady sample, with very little haze and a nice fizzy wheat flavor. An easy, pleasing beer.

Tap at the brewery on 7-18-16. Poured golden, quickly dissipating white head. Aroma was wheat, grains, dusty. Taste was sweet, wheat, grains.

bottle @ Johns Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Slightly hazy golden amber with a full head cover, swirls of lace. Taste is sweet wheat and malt. There is a little development in the palate, followed by very slight bittering to close. A small beer, but a decent addition to the list of wheat ales.

12oz bottle 9/28/13 (Hy-Vee Cedar Rapids)-Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of wheat and citrus. Taste of the same with some bread. This light bodied brew was just another American style wheat.

12 oz bottle from Hy-Vee Muscatine. Pale orange and slightly hazy with a small white head. Aroma of bready malts, orange peel, lemon zest, banana and herbs (coriander, clove). Similar flavor, mildy sweet with a light herbal zesty bitterness and a touch of spices. Light to medium body, a little thin with soft carbonation. Not bad, pretty easy to drink.
