Hazy golden pour. The aroma is great - bright tart aroma with some apple and a bit of vanilla. Lightly funky with some nice fruit and pepper as well as a bit of toffee. Dry and pretty spicy with a bit of light peppery character. A bit of sweet apple and honey character with a bit of light fruit and sweetness.

A very interesting cider was a guest tap as part of a small beer festival going on the same weekend that I was in town. It almost tasted like somebody made a shandy with a dash of whiskey. The result is dangerously drinkable.

Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy lemon base is like a pure glass of lemonade without any ice. Thin clear legs prove it is more than a lightweight session beer. The nose is that of a dry champagne with hints of a basic whiskey. The alcohol does not overpower but is hard to miss.

Flavor / Palate - Tart lemonade with a little nip of whiskey warm the palate within a few sips. The texture of a dry champagne carries with it alcohol and citrus that stick in the throat. This is smooth enough that it would be easy to drink a few until they caught up with you later in the evening.

500ml bottle from the Potten End village fete 2011. Pours murky amber, a few bubbles but no head. Nose is subtle. Standard sweet/sour apple aroma with the sweet notes dominant. Taste is sweet, with some sour crispness and sharpness. Quite tart and with a bit of woodiness and softness in the finish. Nice.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a cloudy almost milky yellow with a small rough head. Peely appley aroma. Medium body, very low in carbonation, dry and astringent authentic apple notes yet with an underlying sweetness. The whisky accents are there but subdued. Again a late sourness. 110510

Bottled. An unclear light golden cider with a thin white head. The aroma has strong notes of sour apples, apple core, and a bit of wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, sour apples, apple core, and a bit of whiskey, leading to a dry, tart, and woody finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Yellow haze. Boozy acetone nose. Dry but with a sweet slippery fruitiness. Whisky is mainly apparent in the finish. Heavy wood, no peat. Very drinkable being flat as it is. Not a bad nip.
