Bree Louise, London. Gravity/bag. No head, juicy and hazy still body. Thick apricot juice. Manners and tannin on nose. Sip is quite tannic, astringent, and mostly dry. Hints of apple sweetness but mostly quite dry. Tannic, oak, apple skin funk. This is strong willed and interesting. Pucker around the edges. Lots of funk and manure throughout. Not for faint of heart, but nice.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2016 Handpull from the Flying Pig, Cambridge. Murky and impenetrable yellow-orange. Tannic, woody aroma with suggestions of cider vinegar. Taste is sour, tangy and intense. Finishes acrid to the point of biliousness. Swallowing is like trying to down turpentine. Its been too long since I lived in the Westcountry but I think this would be unnecessarily rough by anyone’s standards.

Taste is medium sweet and lightly tart and acidic in the finish, with notes of green apples, baked apples, lemon juice, funk and hay. Light bodied with ok carbonation. Overall, nice flavor profile, maybe not well integrated

From Bag in Box at The Marlborough Arms, Cirencester, Gloucs. Cloudy gold with no head. Dry bittering apple flavour, skinny, there is a hint of oak. It’s fine.

Cask at the Cock, Hackney. Short review due to session. Murky orange colour. For me, the taste of this was overpowered by metal and blood. Very obvious red wine presence. I love Rioja, but I don’t think it improves this cider. My girlfriend called it ’bad breath cider’.

minutemat (5809) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 13, 2014
Draught @ Bree Louise. Fairly sour, thin and astringent with a noticeable white wine influence. Quite dry with some tart apples, but just not hitting the right notes for me.
