In the model of a Dusseldorf-style Alt beer, this German copper ale, starts bitter, yet focuses on its malty finish.

Shared a sampler that had this in it. The color was medium brown and it had a large hoppy smell. Hoppy flavor which, thankfully, didn’t linger like it does with most hoppy beers.

sampled in may at Milly’s and just found my tasting notes on this one. Aroma is lightly fruity and malty. Taste is caramel malts, like fruity esters, with a light hop bitterness in the finish.

Pint at the brewpub, has a nice copper color with a off-white head. Not very famialr with this style of beer, but have had a few in the past. Smells of bready malt, slightly sweet and hops, maybe a bit spicy. This one has a great bready malt flavor and nice hop balance. At first I thought it might be too bitter, but after a few sips I was very pleased. Good body, bitter and sweet and highly drinkable.

On tap at Milly’s. Sizable creamy head, a beautiful amber color... some nice lacing on the glass. Flavors of malt, caramel, and a light hop finish. Medium body, crisp and refreshing, a great beer without a doubt. Probably very easy to have too many of these.

cask-pours a head that’s white foamy bubbles with cloudy orange color. Aroma is citrus hops. Taste is citrus hops, sweet fruit, floral, secondary malt, mellow. Nice.

Malt lover’s dream! Copper to orange pour with thin head. Wonderfully sweet smell. Taste has some citrus element but the malt flavor is the star of the show. Excellent "lighter" beer for the winter months!

On tap at the brewpub and a few beer festivals: Clear orange with a off-white head, light sweet fruits and some rich malts, starts and ends lighty sweet. Medium bodied with a rich aftertaste.
