The appearance was a deep dark brown color with a slim bar pour’s kind of off tan foamy head that slid off into oblivion fairly nice. Minimal lace.
The aroma had some sweet and roasted nuts with an ample amount of caramel and toffee malts.
The flavor was nutty sweet with the caramel and toffee playing with a little bit of butterscotch. Not much of an aftertaste but there’s a nice dry sweet sort of finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation about it. ABV screamed "chug me" but I sipped my first pint and ended up not having another, though I could have.
Overall, pretty nice "session" styled brown ale, I could see myself having another time. The only thing is I didn’t get any "honey" in this. oteyj (2138) - New Hampshire, USA - JUN 28, 2012
Clear amber pour with a medium white head. Roasty malts ans hints of caramel give way to honey, biscuit, and toasty toffee. Medium body with a clean finish. AirForceHops (8033) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 10, 2012
Tap @ brew pub. Pint. Very thin small off white head. Steady carbonation. Nose of caramel and nuts. Taste is much the same. Light barley notes. The noticeable barley gives this a nice touch. Lighter side of medium body. It’s a very standard and straight forward Brown. Well-crafted and easy to drink. johnnnniee (4457) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 23, 2011
Pours a deep dark brown color with a minimal tan head that shows minimal retention but does leave some lace. Smells nutty with caramel and toffee playing a supporting role. This ones all about malt, little to no hops in the aroma. Taste is nutty caramel and toffee with a bit of buttered popcorn and a slight astringency thrown in as well. Slight touch of earthy hops in the flavor with before a somewhat dry finish. Medium body and level of carbonation, slick toffee candy like mouthfeel. Decent brew that’s easy to drink. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - FEB 11, 2011
growler THANKS to CLW-pours a dissipating offwhite head with copper color. Aroma is caramel-light/medium malt, lime. Taste is caramel-light malt, some roast, spice/lime hops. A Vienna-ish? Nice crisp, with a light finish.
