Had at Milly’s Tavern in Manchester, NH. Nice reddish color. I like half the taste. Half is fruity and yummy, the other half is bitter and yucky. Overall the good parts win out. tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 31, 2005
Mild hoppy note to the aroma with some pleasant fruity esters. Clear amber coloured body with shy off-white head that recedes to ring. Fruitiness balances with fair bitterness in the flavour Medium-light body with fair carbonation and a very dry finish. Sampled at the brewpub with dirtymike, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Rastacouere and Volgon. muzzlehatch (4959) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 29, 2005
New England Road Trip Easter ’05 with MartinT, tiggmtl and Rastacouere, beer #16. The American Red Ale..not a species I need to spend much time on...but I’ll try to be fair, Mike’s a good guy and a good brewer...this one’s darkish amber, very little head...lightly toasty sweet nose...sweet-sour, lightly lactic malty body...fairly plain, well done for the style but...no, I don’t need more of these. Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 29, 2005
Straight amber, off-white head. A nutty dominance overtakes the aroma, peanut-like oiliness obstructing the malt depth a bit. Nutty caramel malt palate. Moderately carbonated, light-medium bodied. I don’t enjoy the balance too much, those hops seem to attack the malt with a hatchet and dry the hell out of it. It happens a bit too fast I find. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 28, 2005
Subdued caramel sweetness and fruity malt flavors...Prickly carbonation awakens the tasty hop bitterness...Potent malt huskiness keeps interest going...

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2004 Re-rate: A definite chlorine/chemical taste from my hometown water supply. Ughh. First rating: Had a pint on tap. Deep amber/red color. This ale has a deep rich maltiness in the finish that seems to last forever. It is easy to see why this is the owners favorite.
