Had at Millys Tavern in Manchester, NH. Nice reddish color. I like half the taste. Half is fruity and yummy, the other half is bitter and yucky. Overall the good parts win out.

Mild hoppy note to the aroma with some pleasant fruity esters. Clear amber coloured body with shy off-white head that recedes to ring. Fruitiness balances with fair bitterness in the flavour Medium-light body with fair carbonation and a very dry finish. Sampled at the brewpub with dirtymike, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Rastacouere and Volgon.

New England Road Trip Easter 05 with MartinT, tiggmtl and Rastacouere, beer #16. The American Red Ale..not a species I need to spend much time on...but Ill try to be fair, Mikes a good guy and a good brewer...this ones darkish amber, very little head...lightly toasty sweet nose...sweet-sour, lightly lactic malty body...fairly plain, well done for the style but...no, I dont need more of these.

Straight amber, off-white head. A nutty dominance overtakes the aroma, peanut-like oiliness obstructing the malt depth a bit. Nutty caramel malt palate. Moderately carbonated, light-medium bodied. I dont enjoy the balance too much, those hops seem to attack the malt with a hatchet and dry the hell out of it. It happens a bit too fast I find.

Subdued caramel sweetness and fruity malt flavors...Prickly carbonation awakens the tasty hop bitterness...Potent malt huskiness keeps interest going...

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2004 Re-rate: A definite chlorine/chemical taste from my hometown water supply. Ughh. First rating: Had a pint on tap. Deep amber/red color. This ale has a deep rich maltiness in the finish that seems to last forever. It is easy to see why this is the owners favorite.
