Extra from flandersned. Medium brown. Pure bourbon nose with some sweet malts. Taste follows with some earthy hops and light spicy yeast notes. Decent, but a bit of a bourbon bomb. ryanfolty (2584) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - MAY 1, 2015
May 1, 2015 - bottle via trade. Brownish orange pour with limited head. Aroma was bourbon, malt, caramel and almost light tart fruit. Taste was buttery then moved into a dry sugar sweetness with a mild bourbon. crossovert (13413) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 28, 2014
355ml bottle. Amber pour. HAs a tart and boozy nose. Flavor is huge on the vanilla and a bit of fruits. It is boozy but not obnoxious the slight tartness being hte only detractor. Still, pretty nice. cbfobes (2885) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - SEP 10, 2013
On tap at Dexters, pours a dark amber red with a thin off white head, the aroma was really sweet with some malt and caramel at first, some of the barrel notes come through with the vanilla, the flavor is really sweet with the caramel and vanilla, slick mouthfeel, not bad. deyholla (11901) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 7, 2013
Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a hazy caramel amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a bit of astringent booze with sweet grains and vanilla with a touch of light fruits. Flavor is more balanced with a nice warming vanilla booze note that works with sweet grains, caramel and light fruits.

Nice dark amber color with not much of a head. Nice aroma of dark fruit, bourbon and spice. Flavor is oaky vanilla, sweet bourbon, spicy hops and a creamy malt finish. A big satisfying beer that’s a definite keeper. Sledutah (7753) - Utah, USA - MAR 23, 2013
12oz bottle from demmbonz, thanks akoeninger (766) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 19, 2012
Appearance: Pours cloudy dark amber with a small off-white head and some lacing
Aroma: Whiskey, oak and vanilla
Taste: Vanilla, whiskey, coconut and fresh oak
A nice BBA beer, smooth. The bourbon and oak are dominant with the base beer being an amber, but not overpowering like some.
Dark for an amber. Short lived white head. Aroma is dark fruit and bourbon on top of the usual amber smell. Taste is similar with a smooth, creamy bourbon sweetness. There’s enough hop bitterness to make it an evenly balanced brew. MarinEvelyn (854) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 14, 2012
you can definitely taste the Bourbon! Smell of fruit, possibly licorice. Tastes a little sweet, floral, with bourbon. Pretty smooth, surprisingly easy to drink. gets better with each sip. (obviously) HighWine (959) - Whalezbro, Illinois, USA - DEC 12, 2012
2012 Bottle to snifter. Pours a dark amber color with a short lived off white head. Aroma of whiskey soaked oak. Flavor is very bourbon forward. In fact this is a thinner BBA beer than I am used to drinking and it really shows. Fuller bodied beers complement the barrel character whereas this brew is overtaken by it. Don’t get me wrong, I love bourbon and the flavor of this is good, but it tastes more like a whiskey cocktail than beer. Bourbon and soda water flavor with a big hazelnut, vanilla taste in the finish. Relatively thin in the mouth but somewhat creamy texture. Not bad but not what I was expecting.
