Amberish color with a good sized head. Aroma of strong hops and spice. The taste is quite hoppy, but a large blast of malt that balances it out. Very solid pale ale and quite tasty. DavidP (1748) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 24, 2004
Amber body, minimal white head. Generic piney hop aroma. Light caramel malt flavor that’s dominated by resiny, piney hops. Overall, an enjoyable pale. muzzlehatch (4959) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 5, 2004
Sample at the brewpub. Damn I’m not getting what y’all are getting with this place. Light clear amber; sprucy nose, little malt...in the body, thickness, caramel, a light lingering bite, but fairly nondescript. BitterPoet (57) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 22, 2004
Had this along with the Louie’s Demise, which was on cask. The Pale is a quality brew, reminding me of Bell’s Pale. Solid, light fruit, tight body. A good APA. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - DEC 26, 2003
Pours a light copper with a puffy white head. Sweet fresh hoppy and sweet pale malt aroma. Body has a nice thickness to it with good complexity and hop flavor. Fresh crisp clean finish with a light fruitiness. A very nice APA.

Malty slightly carmel aroma. Really thought I would smell more hops. Malty thick first taste sort of a bitter aftertaste then quickly goes to dry. A little more hoppiness and this would be a real favorite Pjones6738 (500) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 17, 2003
Reddish brown color, and a maltier scent than expected. Pretty good mix of hops/malt. TheDean (786) - MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 16, 2003
mmm...filled with hoppy goodness. The little bubbles popping on my lips from this feel good. Damn, I get drunk easily! JoeM500 (1908) - Crown Point, Indiana, USA - JUL 14, 2003
Interesting hop nose that brings orange and grapefruit, along with grassy fields to the nose. Flavor hops start the ride and then reveal a nice rich malty body that isn't exactly caramelly, but sweet nonetheless. Bitter end is quick and strong, leaving behind all of the ingredients for a mighty hops belch! BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - JUN 11, 2003
Cask conditioned on tap - Orange tint, okay head but fine lacing. medium-bodied. Fruity (berry and pear) and hoppy aroma. Tangy palate with buttery smoothness. Taste, wheat bread hint besides the hops. Lingering bitterness but not overpowering. Fine ale.
