COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A crisp golden ale, dry hopped with Czech Saaz hops for exceptional flavor and aroma. This is one of the original styles that was home-brewed as a hybrid of an American pale ale using traditional euro Pilsner hops.

Sampler at the brewpub. It poured a golden color with a white head. The aroma was of malts, caramel, hops and florals. The taste was similar to the aroma with more malts, caramel, hops, florals and medium carbonation with a bitter aftertaste. Not bad.

Really, quite tasty. And refreshing. And good for a hot summer day, like when I was there.

Pint on tap at the brewpub (Milwaukee, WI). Pours a rich darker golden amber pour, some healthy amber orange glow, though darker slanted, a healthy haze and big frothy whitish head atop sticks around well and laces well. Aromas are gentle bubblegum and grapefruit, some lemon, oranges and grass. A touch of that telltale sweetness, with more grapefruit coming in as it warms. Initial is lighter bodied, perhaps a touch of body with gentle citrusy sweetness, touch of tropical fruit, pale malts, bread, and some gentle floral/grass bitterness. Middle is mellow sweetness, quickly moving into a dry fruity finish, mellow dry bitter hops grow as it warms. Flavorful, but lacking the bitterness I was expecting, moreso showcasing a fruity hop essence. A bit odd, mellow, forgettable without a dominant hop profile bittering this baby up. Prefer the Pull Chain. Ok.

Draft at Milwaukee Brewing. Pours a pale straw with a fluffy white head. The nose is light and spicy with an odd ’wit’ like note. Faint malt. On tasting, appropriate medium-low bitterness with a soft malty profile as well. crisp and refreshing overall. But the Wit note is quite strange...

Tap sample. Poured hazy golden color with an average white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate floral hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.

Draft at Old Fashioned. Hazy golden tan, nice steady thick off-white head. Pretty nice and refreshing APA. Balanced, but the minimal hops still leave something to be desired. The noble hops give it a crisper feel than having gone with NW varietals. Medium bodied, slightly soapy. Slightly dirty, doesn’t really hit the spot. Drinkable, but sub par.

On tap. It has a nice hop bite, but the malts just aren’t working for me, almost buttery.

Bottle. Pours a straw golden with a thick frothy white head. Aroma of somewhat stale noble hops but the saaz still has a nice bite to it, bit wine like, bit of vanilla, smooth rice like creaminess. Flavor follows, light sweetness, creamy, maybe slight infection starting or it’s just the odd combination and old hops, could probably pretty nice fresh, not bad now, vanilla/rice softness. Carbonation is corse and plenty of it, again maybe slight infection starting.

On tap at brew pub, pours a hazy golden with a thin head and some lacing, the aroma has a decent citrus tough but the flavor is very light and overall bland.

Deep golden yellow with a frothy medium off-white head, slowly fading with some lacing. Aroma is somewhat earthy with dusty pale malt and mild citrus. Taste is of light citrus, pale malt and has a crisp fruity finish. Body is a tad thin and there’s a hint of bitterness on the finish
