We took a batch of Louie’s Demise and added a bunch of Rishi’s Organic Blueberry Rooibos and Hibiscus Tea blends to our secondary fermentation vessel. After two weeks of cold infusion we filtered out the tea, carbonated it. It has a blueberry and strawberry nose with a slight malty aspect. Hints of Caramel and Munich malts come out as the beer warms. The flavors are subtle with the Hibiscus at the forefront of the palate. The tea blends add a smooth but tart finish to this beer. This is definitely a different beer.

I like the carbonation. Big blueberry muffin aroma. Semi-sweet blueberry flavor. Blueberry really comes through, not muted. I like it

Tasted from bottle. Pours a hazy amber with off white head. Too much carbonation caused huge foamy head. Strong blueberry aroma with a little bit of strawberry. Flavor is quite unique. Blueberry, floral, caramel notes with faint tea flavor that would not have been noticed if not known. Moderate sweetness with almost no detectable bitterness. Nice tart finish. Interesting and pretty good tasting beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled, MKE version. This was a decent beer of you like blueberry. Amber color. Light, dry malt base complimented by blueberry aroma and some blueberry flavor. Not a bad fruit beer at all, and not sweet like so many of them. Not great but ok.

On draft at Milwaukee Ale House. The beer is transparent and amber with ruby highlights. Aromas of blueberry, sugar, fruity, sugary punch (8 year old birthday party). While I truly enjoy blueberry beers, I’ve had very few that were excellent. Artificial flavor abounds, and while there are some nice things going on, I wouldn’t want more than a 4 oz. serving. Light in body and pretty smooth with a present sweetness throughout. Worth a try.

Enjoyed on tap at Steny's in Milwaukee, WI after going to a Brewers game. I didn't care for this one at all . Tea flavor was overpowering, didn't really mix well with the malty quality of the brew. I won't be having this one again.

Bottle. Slightly murky amber pour with a small soapy head. Nice blueberry in the aroma. Tea comes out and makes this a bit dryer and not too sweet. Pretty nice brew.

On tap at The Tipsy Cow. Orange color with a definite blueberry and malt aroma. Taste is interesting, tea and flowery flavors stand out with a good malt bill. Some caramel. Light body. Very refreshing, like a Malty version of a shandy with tea instead of lemonade. Very refreshing, easy drinking good for lunch. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

MKE brewing has been making good beers lately. Living in Milwaukee, I was admittedly one of their biggest skeptics in years past. Over the past 2 years or so, I’ve had several very good beers from them. Based on the description and bottle, I had low expectations. However, this beer is quite delicious. The aroma has very potent blueberry notes, so I was worried it would be way too sweet. The flavor is not overly sweet, though, and this is a very sessionable beer. The base beer is just OK, but it allows the blueberry tea to really shine. It’s a nice option for a hot summer day.

12 oz. bottle from a Christmas sampler. Ar: Aroma of dried blueberries, moderate roast malt. Ap: Pours a slightly hzy toffee with a nice one inch frothy manila head. Great retention. Good looking beer. T: Pretty assertive dried blueberry flavor up front, a touch sweet but not overly so. Finish is slightly grassy bitterness. Somewhat watery for my tastes. P: Fairly thin and somewhat sticky with pretty moderate carbonation. O: This had the potential to be a stinker, but all in all this is a fun one. Tastes really similar to a blueberry tea blend I bought for my wife one year, which isn’t all that surprising.
