Draft at Old Fashioned. Filtered amber-orange. Thin oily head courtesy of the frozen glass. Deep malty pungency right off the bat. Quite clean and filtered, but still a decent Bock. Smooth and mellow, some dark fruit amongst the lager tones. Respectable enough, has some depth. Sweet caramel. Well executed. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 19, 2011
On tap at the Old Fashioned. Deep amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma is mild with toffee, yeast, faint banana and mild clove. Taste of toffee, nuts, light banana, yeast and mild dark malts. A bit thin on the palate, just seems like it needs more of everything to me. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 15, 2011
On tap at Milwaukee Ale House. Poured deeper amber with a shorter-lived beige head. The aroma picked up fairly textbook weizenbock character with darker banana and earthy wheat over semi-sweet chocolate and bready character.. hints of clove as well.. darker and inviting. The flavor found chocolate, banana, and some caramel at the core, but it was more muddled.. prickly carbonation and tart wheat only felt OK on the edges.. finished a little on the sharp side. Medium-bodied at most with carbonation getting in the way at times.. just a decent feel to it.. still drinkable.
