COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complex flavors and aromas come from a variety of sources. Barley malt and wheat help create a smooth body and attribute a pleasant golden hue while the addition of malted rye and oats brings out a solid earthy flavor. Czech Saaz Hops help create a citrus nose. What makes this beer truly special is the Saison Ale yeast strain used to ferment this beer. The subtle hints of tangerine, peach and licorice are the hallmarks of this particular yeast.

12 oz bottle I picked up at the pig. Pours a cloudy amber color with a small white head that has good retention. The aroma is slightly spicy with white pepper and some fruity grains(Belgian Pils?). The flavor is complex and features white fruits, pears, apples and apricots giving way to peppery hops and nutty yeasts. Somewhere in there is a bit of biscuit. The palate is medium with lively carbonation. Finishes incredibly long and dry with lingering pepper. Overall: Wow, xcellent saison, I loved it.

Bottle - Pours clear yellow with a nice foamy white head. Nose is light, delicate spice--clove, cardamom, white pepper--with some banana notes and light, dusty yeast. Wow...loving this nose, and I wasn’t expecting it at all. Taste is mellow tropical fruit, apple, pear, a touch of spice, and the same dusty yeast, though subdued. A bit of mustiness, but really, really smooth. Get the oats on the finish, and I’m wondering if that’s what’s giving it the big, smooth, slick body. Carbonation is a bit too high, but that’s all that stops this from being something I could drink all afternoon. Loved this one, and it was totally unexpected. May have to give this brewery a second look.

Nice mouthfeel, great golden hue, Saaz hops on the nose, spice character from the Saison yeast.

12 oz bottle. It pours a nice gold with a large, foamy white head. The smell is unique. It has a noticeable sourness to it with some vinegar, but also dominating characteristics of a saison yeast, it is big and spicy. The taste is similar, spicy with a hint of tartness. for the abv it is pretty refreshing actually although the sweetness is there. Not a bad beer, an experiment perhaps that turned out exceptionally well.

This is a nice saison; above average. It has a nice peppery nose and a citrus and spice flavor. Cloudy yellow appearance with super carbonation. Got this from Josh N. after the winter beer tasting. 2012.
