Complex flavors and aromas come from a variety of sources. Barley malt and wheat help create a smooth body and attribute a pleasant golden hue while the addition of malted rye and oats brings out a solid earthy flavor. Czech Saaz Hops help create a citrus nose. What makes this beer truly special is the Saison Ale yeast strain used to ferment this beer. The subtle hints of tangerine, peach and licorice are the hallmarks of this particular yeast.

Guest tap at Emmett’s, Downers Grove. Autumnal brown with a one-finger parfait head. Spicy wassail nose, a bit of fig and yeast, too. Malt and mouthfeel is light, but it has a dose of caramel roast, augmented by coriander, sage, and some European hop backbone. Touch of cider at the end. Goes down very easily.

Lightly hazed golden color with a moderate light beige head. Aromas of wheat, and lightly spicy yeast. Quite sweet, with floral and sweet herbs. Light wheat sweetness in the background. A cross between a weiss and a saison. 3/11

Bottle - ruby red, a fruity nose and apricot flavor. Yeasty and farmhouse-like but not what I would consider to be a good saison.

Nice mouthfeel, great golden hue, Saaz hops on the nose, spice character from the Saison yeast.

Just not impressed with this brewery....seems to me that all the beers flavors are off....this one was weird....(#547)....

Draft at the MKE Ale House. Orange-copper color with thin off-white head and minimal lacing. Fruit and yeast aroma. Fruit and yeast upfront. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber pour with a light beige head. Aroma is a slight funk, yeast fruit. Taste is light fruit, refreshing, palette cleansing. Tasty with nice lacing.

[Bottle] Orange colored pour with a fizzy head on top. Aromas of yeast, floral notes and light spice. Clean flavors of sweet caramel malts, spicy hops, yeasty phenols and lemongrass. Lively carbonation. Sweet and yeasty finish. Good, but not a very complex saison.

RRistow12 (864) - Lewis Center, Ohio, USA - FEB 2, 2015
Tasted from bottle. Pours a hazy amber with off white head. A little too much carbonation. Aroma is caramel, honey, spices, grains. Taste is moderate to heavily sweet with mild to no bitterness. Not very well balanced. Flavors of caramel, toffee, honey, syrup, spices, earthy notes. Not much of the belgian yeast flavor and too sweet. Below average for style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz. bottle. Aroma of malt sweetness, big yeast profile with notes of honey, caramel, tons of clove, fruity esters, spice and some very faint grassy, herbal hop. Clear medium amber in color, no head whatsoever (although the glass was wet). Flavor profile shows some citrus, caramel sweetness, honey, plenty of spice, grainy malts, toasty and full, bitterness is mild overall, Some tea leaf flavors in the finish, amidst the clove and banana. Carbonation is low, somewhat thin in feel and with a medium body. Not like anything I’ve had before!

Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 16, 2014
On draft at Milwaukee Ale House. The beer is copper with a small, off-white head. Fruity aroma with some yeast, bread. Too sweet, no funk presence. This is a saison? Odd flavor, some stone fruits and unusual earthy flavors. Not digging this one. And what’s with the name? There’s nothing "Booyah" about this one. Move along folks...
