bottle fresh from wisconsin 7/12/10. awesome creepy label. dark coppery pour with a white topper. it smells of malty caramel, orange, light spice and juniper-like pine. the flavor is much the same... not as sweet as i expected but certainly very malty. medium body with a little thick/richness to it. slick, smooth and warming. idk if i want that from an amber?? 6/3/5/3/13/3.0

Amber orange pour with a white head. Aroma is caramel, pennies, some boiled greens hop notes? Flavor is predominantly caramel, some sweet malt. Not much hop character. A little metallic. Ok.

Can courtesy of motortoddhead. Pours amber with a tan head. Smells of caramel, earthy. Tastes of caramel, minerally, citrussy, grassy.

aroma is nutty with beginnings of real toffee character. appearance is polished but darkened center on pretty ruby body with great lacing/carb. oil slick head shifts and flows. flavor is tangy, rubbery (but pleasant) caramel, more nuttiness from aroma steps near dopplebock territory. substantial chewy mouthfeel echoes the caramel within.

Pours bubbly, frothy white head with deep copper body. Decent caramel aroma with a little skunky hop. Flavor is mostly sweet, caramel malt with light dry hop aftertaste. Some plastic. Medium body. Okay stuff.

Draft at Greenbush Bar. Pours a rich ruby-amber color with a finger-thick off-white head, very creamy. Aroma of sweet malts, apples, cherries, toast, and hops. Flavor is malty, fruity, and sweet, with notes of caramel, mixed fruit juice, and just a bit of earthy hops. Light-bodied, with average carbonation and a mouthfeel that borders on malty and juicy. Finishes crisp and clean. Definitely sessionable. Easy-to-drink, straightforward beer with a cool story to the name.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2011 A very sharp beer, like a clean cut. A bit heavy, meaning a few of these may weight you down over the period of a night. Second rating, and I do not enjoy this. Lowering the taste, palate, and overall ratings.

Picked up a bottle of this at Ridgeview. Pours a rich amber color with lots of particulate floating about and thin white head. Aroma is of caramel, light fruit and mild hops. Taste is of sweet caramel malt, light fruit, mild citrus hops and light brown sugar. Surprisingly, this isn’t at all bad for a style that I generally don’t care for. Good job on this one.
