Our flagship brand; this medium bodied amber ale starts with a rich malt flourish that’s kept in perfect balance by a smooth hop finish. This MKE original is similar to a German style alt beer.

Bottle. Copper color poured with a quickly dissipating off-white head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel. It is light bodied with some light metallicness in the taste.

On tap at the brewpub. Red amber out of the tap with almost no head. Sweet beer with an almost white sugar taste. It is billed as a "Scotch" ale, but I’m glad that RB has it as an amber. Nothing wrong with it but not much going on.

Miller Park - Brewer-Twins game, MIlwaukee, WI - 12 oz bottle. Light copper pour, decent, creamy off-white head. Not much aroma - a bit of fresh lake water. Some caramel notes. Decent balance of hops and malt. Clean mouthfeel. Average.

This beer pours to a thin tan head atop a dark brown body. The aroma is much like the Maker’s Demise w/o the oak. The flavor is iced tea and light Noble hops. The palate is creamy and medium bodied. Not bad, but nothing special.

Nice frothy head at first with a deep amber and reddish hue. Aroma of toffee and some nutmeg. Deeper exploration upon the palate reveals a lack of complexity. A little biscuit and dried fruit. Slight bittering character, but again fails to be anything more than mediocre.

bottle fresh from wisconsin 7/12/10. awesome creepy label. dark coppery pour with a white topper. it smells of malty caramel, orange, light spice and juniper-like pine. the flavor is much the same... not as sweet as i expected but certainly very malty. medium body with a little thick/richness to it. slick, smooth and warming. idk if i want that from an amber?? 6/3/5/3/13/3.0

On draft at the Milwaukee Public Market on a Sunday morning. Amber color. Sweet grainy malts. Simple nose and flavor. Ok. 6/3/6/3/12

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

Bottle - Pours hazy reddish amber with a light tan head. Nose is light spicy wood with a faintly yeasty bread note. Light sweetness. Taste is a bit sharp, with a faint cherry note and toasted bread malt. Woody finish with a bit of milkiness. I swear there’s some heat on the finish. Nice carbonation, and a bit slick. Odd beer, with some flavors that I wouldn’t expect in an amber. Not my thing.

Pretty tame for an amber ale, with none of the bite that can come with the genre. Good lookin’ on the pour with a nice aroma that’s more caramel than spruce, although they’re both there. Somewhat thin on the body, and a taste that’s a little sweet and a little bitter. Solid offering from another little guy bringing good brewing back to Beertown.
