Much more a scotch ale than an amber. On cask at the time of my visit. Peaty malt nose and oaky barrel notes. Caramel was rich and thick, alcohol even peeked out. Finish is long and sweet, leaving a scotchy, malty aftetaste that I really enjoyed. keoki182 (305) - West Bend, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 17, 2006
In bottle form. A red/copper/amber brew with no head (perhaps my pour into the glass). Had a very appealing aroma, nice and malty with some grains and a mild sweetness. Louie’s Demise had a very smooth and malty flavor, a nice big malt backbone supports this amber ale. All in all a very good beer. This would make a great session ale without a doubt. I’d love to try this gem on tap. jebert (500) - Watertown, Wisconsin, USA - APR 16, 2011
Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a huge tan head. Nose is of malt and caramel. Very thick and creamy on the palate. The taste is of malt, caramel, spices and well balanced dry hopping on the finish. An excellent beer that pairs well with Sheboygan brats and onions. MarinEvelyn (868) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 24, 2012
dark amber. lightly bitter aftertaste, but barely noticeable. Lively taste, hard for me to pick out anything particular, just a good tasting beer. Possible slight wheat, woody taste, though I may just be grabbing at branches trying to come up with it’s flavor is. Nothing particularly awesome, just a good quality, yet somewhat average beer. pablo951 (686) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Pours a rich amber color with a nice creamy head. It has very bold hop taste with roasted malt flavor. It has a strong finish.

Aroma is citrus. Pours picture perfect - medium head that rises just over rim of pint glass. Taste is slightly bitter with hints of brown sugar and caramel. demmbonz (784) - Erin, Wisconsin, USA - APR 13, 2012
Beautiful amber color. Very sweet and malty. Minimal hop aroma / taste. A lovely amber. wlajwl (7066) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JUL 31, 2012
Aroma is a mix of caramel malts and fruit. The flavor is fruit, slightly sweet malts and a mildly tart finish. nuplastikk (6453) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 20, 2009
Draft at OF. Amber-brown color, thick off white head. Slight to full on Amber malt pungency. Spicy malt aftertaste with a touch of cream. Full of flavor. Medium to full bodied. Rather well done, pretty solid balance between the rich malt and soapy hop crispness. A quality beer, worth a try. beerbaaron (2046) - Arizona, USA - NOV 24, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2013 An exceptional beer. I usually find Amber Ales a bit bland/boring but this is so flavorful and pretty well balanced. Leans to the sweet side. Bit of bitter. extremely delicious. Pretty original.
