10.5% amber or ASA? Sligtly sticky sweet between the barrel, and caramel bready fruit malt base. Easy drinking for such a big beer with very light hoppy citrus notes. monk191 (1959) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 3, 2017
A nice smooth Amber. Pours a clear red with lots of sediment. Smells slightly of plums and candied orange. Taste is very smooth, with lots of brandy and caramel and vanilla. Paired with Thai fish cakes, really brings out the brandy. Had in the bottle.

Pours amber with a brown hue and a small tan head that fades but leaves behind a thick ring that’s sustained by a good amount of carbonation. AROMA: sweet malt, caramel, woody, boozy, brown sugar, floral, citrus, earthy, herbal hops, dry tobacco, mellow bourbon notes, slight berries, roasty, charred, light spices, mandarin, faint vanilla and other fruits. TASTE: malt, woody, citrus, caramel, herbal hop bitterness, berries, spices, boozy, brown sugar, earthy, peppercorns, vanilla, faint coffee tannins, slight soy sauce, smoky, raisins, and other fruits. AFTER TASTE: malty, molasses, herbal hops, tannins and oakie with a medium boozy lightly spiced finish. BiggPappa (2) - - DEC 17, 2015 does not count
I got apricot notes on the front, malt throughout, lots of booze on the finish. Nice amber color. Medium body.

Every year I can’t wait to get my hands on this beer. I’ve always thought is was really interesting to have a barrel aged amber. Carlisle (727) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 30, 2015
Bottle. Pours opaque light brown with light tan head and some lacing. Chocolate raisin aroma with bourbon notes. Bready malt upfront with soft chocolate notes. Vanilla follows with very subtle bourbon and some pleasant bitterness. Some alcohol in the long finish. Medium body; lighter than expected.

I thought this beer was awesome....nose was really nice tons of bourbon and caramel notes...mouth was the same with some toffee added in...best brew i have had from this brewery....by far! GuenSmith (28) - Wisconsin, USA - JUN 27, 2015
Lively pour with good head retention, effervescent, immediately has bourbon, caramel, charred woodsy oak aroma. Comes across the palate as a balanced amber ale. Taste is clean, moves from normal amber ale to bourbon finishing with banana caramel. Not as "bourbon-y" as some aged beers but very good. Head remains as beer warms becoming more complex with nice lacing on the glass. In short this beer tastes like another! hype (40) - - MAR 13, 2015
