This pitch black milk stout is teaming with rich roasted malt and coffee flavors. The addition of milk sugar tames these intense flavors with a silky sweetness. A very easy drinking, full bodied beer. This beer gets its’ name from the Milwaukee landmark, the Allen-Bradley clock tower, who locals fondly call “Polish Moon”.

Dark and toasty. Nice lace and a good chocolate finish. Like this with a good lasagna and slice of cheese.

Pours ebony black with a thick frothy light brown head. Aroma is malt and coffee. Nice viscosity and creaminess. Taste is dark roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and a slight yeasty sourdough bread taste at the finish. No hops evident. Very smooth and flavorful. Stands up well with chili and crackers.

smells of pennies and milk. pours pitch black. Was slightly turned off by all the other reviews, I do taste metallic slightly, but not too strong. Smooth, easy to drink. Not extremely flavorful, but not a bad beer either.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2013 Aroma of chocolate milk, coffee, roasted malt, and maybe caramel. Tasty for sure. Flavor follows aroma. Body is light to medium. Has characteristics that give it broad appeal. Easy drinking.

The aroma is the best thing about this sweet stout. The pour is thick and viscous, and has a rather foamy, tan bubbly head. The taste of this one is STRONG- an intense roasted flavor, which may have appeal to some, but didn’t to me, and I love stouts known for roast flavors. Polish Moon, we were just not meant to be.

Enjoyed via a bottle from the cash bar at WMSE Food Slam 2012. The smell was very metallic - like blood, pennies and wheat. I was excited to try this milk stout but due to the defects, it tasted like a nut brown ale. Like peanuts and metal with a watery consistency. I have not had many problems with MKE beers, but another friend had the same issue with theirs that night as well. Bad batch or bad beer? I’m not sure if I want to roll the dice and try again.

Bottle. So, I don’t know if this beer simply sucks, or the source it was obtained from was bad. This beer was quite metallic in flavor. And the smell also metallic. Perhaps some bad water? Anyway, the beer was barely drinkable until some hot Anodyne coffee was poured into the beer to salvage the $5 price of the beer at an event. I digress, I know, but I will not be drinking this beer ever again.
