This beer is simply delicious. It drinks like a meal in itself. There is a hint of coffee, and a roasty, earthy aftertaste with a scent of raisin. This beer had an aroma of cooked oatmeal. I tried this beer for the first time last week at the Milwaukee Ale House and I thought it was the most delicious stout that I ever had. Not grainy at all and smooth beyond belief. I wish I could find this beer in Michigan. Sheepshead Stout is deeply satisfying and rich tasting, a far cry from the common beers that I find in most restaurants. prosqtor (408) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 6, 2007
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2007 a VERY good stout! Lots of cocoa and coffee in this beer, lots of roasted dark flavors in the aroma. Something I almost get at the MAH as a last beer. duece (103) - Waterford, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 27, 2002
Wonderful head and color, pleasent aroma. Taste is very rich with a wonderful finish. keoki182 (305) - West Bend, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 15, 2008
A nice mix of an Irish dry and an oatmeal stout. Beautiful deep mahogany hue and thick tan foam head. Strong roasted malts flavor, some chocolate in there. One of the better stouts I’ve had and what makes it better is the fact that Ale House keeps it in constant supply. A great stand-by. TheDean (786) - MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 16, 2003
This is the last beer on my sampler, and it still has head!!! It's been like an hour or so...gawd bless! Nice coffee flavor. The best beer of the night.

Dark color, with a really long lasting dark head. Had a really nice oatmeal stout taste. A very good beer, the best of the Ale House's beers. Strykzone (7893) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUL 16, 2007
Now this is a beer! Classic dark appearance and plenty of roasted malt aromas. There is lots of chocolate and coffee in the flavor. The use of nitrogen removes any "zing" this stout might have but it was a very good beer. Drake (14451) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 11, 2018
12 ounce bottle from a sampler from Sendik's Marquette. Black, large fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roast, oats, chocolate. The taste is roasted malts, oats, chocolate. Medium bodied, creamy, smooth. Nice stout.
