Bottle under the Trader Joes Boatswain DIPA name. Clear medium pour, a little bit of carbonation and a fairly malty aroma (although no hops). Flavor is certainly malty, and then a conglomerate of old vegetables, cough drops and some noticeable alcohol. Jesus, this was only $2; but that was still asking to much.

$2.29 bomber from Trader Joes. Mostly clear orange with an average white head and lacing. Aroma is sweeter with oranges, pine, yeast, and bubblegum. Taste is make forward. Sweet malts blend with mild citrus and pine. Very thin and bland overall with a dry finish.

22 ounce bottle (as "Rhinelander" Imperial Jack) picked up at Woodmans in Beloit for the ridiculous and mind-boggling price of $2.50 and consumed cold from the fridge from a Flying Fish pint. Pours a small to moderate white head atop a light amber, very clear body, leaving bare hints of lacing as it decays with moderate speed...weak sugary nose - brown sugar and maybe honey, a hint of thyme, some plastic qualities...surprisingly not as sweet on the tongue, though still a bit sugary - some woody/dry qualities throughout, a bit of caramelized malt, just a touch of sourness and acidity...dry finish, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel, low to moderate carbonation. I was kind of expecting horrible after my last couple of Minhas experiences, so with those low expectations...well, its passable at best.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2016 Smell is great. The like a strong bock with a very bitter finish. Just a little too strong for me.

Bottled. A dark golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, alcohol, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, caramel, and over ripe fruit, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle from Trader Joes. Floral fruity aroma. Caramalt, resin, pine, and some citrus notes in the flavour. Bitter and somewhat boozy finish.

From the 650 ml. bottle "Trader Joes" batch. Orange amber pour with a quick lasting white head. The aroma brings out a musty cellar and perfume character at first with a kind of floral and burnt character. Medium body. The taste seems to have a metallic and odd malt character with little in the way of hops. It was just boring to me.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Slightly hazy light orange with minimal off-white head. Cereal corn-like malt with very subtle hops, mild metallic notes. This is the budweiser of DIPAs.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel, Tel Aviv. Thanks to who. Slightly hazy orange with white head. The aroma has lots of honey, alcoholic with notes of overripe fruits. Bitterish flavor with notes of overripe fruits and honey, alcoholic. Medium. Unpleasant.

Purchased a bottle under the Boatswain label, and poured into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a cloudy, sediment deep amber-copper color with a good-sized foamy/creamy off-white head with average retention, cling, and lacing. Its aroma featured grainy and pine hops notes along with some barley and spice. The taste was mostly a bitter and sour grainy blend with some bread and earthy tones, and a sour alcohol finish. The body was mostly wet and full, with average carbonation and thickness, and a strong alcohol presence.

A disgusting IPA, with almost no hops to it. Good high alcohol content though.
