hotstuff (5173) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAY 21, 2014
Rated on 6-21-2012. This beer’s appearance is a medium sized fizzy off-white head with a long retention, hazy orange body with a golden tint, fast rising, fizzy carbonation observed, and a fair amount of lacing adorns my glass. The aroma is citrus hops and light caramel malt. The flavor is moderately bitter, citrus hops and caramel malt. The mouthfeel is smooth and thin. This beer is light-medium bodied. This beer is not very hoppy tasting for the style. It is a lackluster IPA.

Bottle from some guy at btr. Sweet, way you too sweet for IPA for me. Interesting, but my IPA friends would hate it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Truly a putrid mess. Thumper IPA keeps going and going, destroying any sense of good taste and craftsmanship in its wake. A sweet, trashy mix of garbage. Pours brown, finishes like a cheap rum candy. Bottle for two bucks at Trader Joes.

Came in a 4-pack of samplers, all with rabbit-themed names. Expected an IPA, got something that was thick, sweet, and had zero hop flavour/armoa to speak of. Split the bomber with a friend, and barely finished my half. Awful.

UDBeernut (2883) - Saint Johns, Florida, USA - MAR 23, 2014
Bottled as Boatswain IPA from trader joes. Pours deep copper, quick off white head. Toasted malt nose. Taste is generally sweet, toasted malt, pears, slight bitterness on finish. Medium body. Ultimately not a horrid beer, just a horrid IPA. Score reflected as such.

Bendrixian (1514) - Canadiana, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 12, 2014
Chunky brew with a deep almost mahagony colour. Aroma is resinous, almost an aged bottle kind of smell with some apple like notes. On the palate it is malty and has a hoppy profile but that feels like it is reduced to due bottle age. Seems average and not overly enjoyable.

decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - FEB 12, 2014
Gold pour with clinging off white head and lace. Aroma is sweet caramel malt and a mild citrus hop. Sweet malt flavor and a hop bitter that may be tempered by age. Good carbonation medium body. $2.50 bomber from trader joes Asheville maybe a day past its prime

bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - JAN 27, 2014
Bomber, labeled as Boatswain American IPA at Trader Joe’s.

This really isn’t an American IPA. More like an Imperial Red. They have the bitterness right for an IPA, but not much else. Not a bad beer, just not an IPA of any sort. Deep reddish color, Lots of caramel malt in the taste. It might want to become Arrogant Bastard when it grows up, but for two bucks a toss, this ain’t bad.

beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - DEC 31, 2013
Pours a nice orange amber. Medium creamy white head. Aroma is dry, light sweet, kinda pale malty, earthy hop, sorts of lager-like. Lighter medium body. Sugar sweet. Some overripe fruit. Moderate dryness. Minimal bitterness. Not really bad but not good.

MarinEvelyn (854) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 31, 2013
Aroma is sweet, dry, malty, earthy hops. Tastes very sweet, almost like candy. Fruity, lightly dry finish. Very sweet, not much like an IPA, but drinkable.
