On tap for Ant N Bee’s 2nd Anniversary party. My god, this is a thing of beauty. Rich, dark, mildly sweet, big coffee flavors, but never over the top. In the background is dark chocolate and decent roastiness. Alcohol well hidden, well balanced with moderately aggressive hoppiness. Lingering coffee and dark chocolate finish. Pure yum. Five people I was with ordered this beer and everyone said this was the beer of the night. Fantastic. KyotoLefty (10721) - Kyoto, JAPAN - NOV 10, 2010
Real ale version at Beer Belly Edobori. Shiny pitch black. Fine, low, dark tan head. Rich coffee-chocolate aroma, milky and very nice. Sweet, creamy flavor with lots of vanilla and coffee, roasty wood. Strong roasty coffee finish. Smooth, though a bit too think on the body. Delicious. Not really amazing, and a bit too young, but very good.
