My Bottom Line:Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 25, 2013
This yeasty Bitter serves up soft and fruity caramel malts over weak leafy hops.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam laces all the way down the cloudy dark amber. This real ale looks like it’s on nitrogen! Or is it the other way around…
-There was way too much yeast in my pint.
-The finish was sweeter than I would have liked.
-Malt character could have been better polished.
On cask at Beer Belly Tenma.
Cask at Beer Belly Tenma. Clear amber/brown - offwhite head. Nutty. Amber malts. Cocoa. Light chocolate. Fruity notes. Grassy. Herbal. Soft body and finish. KansaiBeerLvrs (5233) - Kyoto, JAPAN - APR 11, 2013
550 yen real ale at Temma Beer Belly. It poured a dark honey brown with an off-white head. No discernible aroma, nice mild sweet malty taste with a hint of bitterness. Great full body for a smooth mouthfeel, easy to drink. Almost no carbonation which jibes with what I remember of real ales. shoulderbroken (4255) - Tokyo, JAPAN - NOV 16, 2011
Hand-pump at Edobori Beer Belly. Cloudy like a guinness and a brown/red colour with small beige creamy head. Aroma slightly stinky. and lots of malt. Taste quite biscuity, bit of sour cream and a slightly bitter finish. Oaty with a slight vegetable aftertaste. Smooooth, and interesting but not quite my thing. omhper (25346) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAY 20, 2009
Draught at Craft Beer Bar, Yokohama. Nut brown, small head. Aroma of dusty caramel. Fairly sweet with light body, Sloppy caramel barely covered by dusty hops. Almost thin bodied and with low bitterness. Primitive like a macro bitter.

Hand\pulled at Beer Belly, Osaka. Dark red~brown, a bit hazy, big creamy tan head. Caramel aroma. Caramel, neutral hop bitterness to balance. Creamy mouthfeel. Lacks the hoppy punch of a bitter, more like a cream ale. Still quite drinkable. TimE (5991) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JAN 11, 2009
Med amber color. Apricots and caramel in the nose. Light bodied, somewhat malty mouth, definitely British accented. However, finish isn’t bitter enough. Nice mouth feel, but otherwise fairly forgettable - not unlikely numerous British bitters. Capa (3329) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - DEC 20, 2008
Copper in color and crystal clear. Aroma has light hops, malt, some sweet toasted notes also. Flavor is similar with the hops being more of a team player than a dictator. Also some earth and herbal notes. Very easy to drink with a clean, lightly hoppy finish. I could stay with this one all night. (Draught at Thrash Zone) jonno (2843) - JAPAN - DEC 17, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2009 A really good, honest beer. Not too much of anything, but really drinkable and enjoyable. Definately surprised by this. KyotoLefty (10517) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 7, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2009 On tap at Beer Belly Edobori.
Light hops, thick, rich caramel malts, some fruit. Very good, though not too hoppy. Amber color, with amberish, slightly earthy malts. Really needs more hops.
