COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Used to be called "Valentine Beer" as well, though they seemed to have dropped that appellation. Roasted malt and sweetness of the malt flavor and give you a good taste imperial stout. Hop bitterness is prudent, using it for chocolate malt, coffee and chocolate-scented, perfect Valentine adult black ale. 7% alcohol taste and deliberate wanted the feeling comes through its rich flavor. Valentine, the original thoughts also fashioned beer labels.

Deep brown with a good sized chocolate head. Aroma is cocoa powder, grilled mushrooms, dates, liquorice, hint of butter. Creamy mouthfeel, medium-full body, roasty on the palate with a hint of booze on the finish. Taste is molasses, soy sauce, roasted malts, liquorice, hint of dark chocolate and wood. Not bad

Black with a medium-thin chocolate-milk coloured head. Aroma of bread, coffee, dark fruit, chocolate malt. Taste is sweet with a sour and bitter finish. Thick texture with light carbonation. Pretty nice beer, but Ive had some far more exciting imperial stouts.

Bottle from Utobeer. Colour is very good. Very dark brown to black opaque with a medium chocolatey looking tan head. Aroma is lots of dark chocolate, dark ripe fruit and dried dates, Marmite yeastiness, molassses. Getting a lot off the nose. Taste is syrupy dark chocolate, Marmite yeastiness, strong roasted malt that lingers on the finish. Theres a touch of black coffee in there, but its very smooth. I like this alot. Packed full of flavour yet smooth and chocolatey.

Aroma: coffee and chocolate Palate: decent Flavor: coffee and chocolate, grassy hop with some sour notes on the mid-palate, burnt coffee finish. Comment: A bit flat. May have been in the keg too long or a bit of an off batch. Sometimes this stuff can be much better.

Tap at Edo-bori Beer Belly. Dark brown with a dark beige head of small bubbles. Aroma, not massively strong, bit of spice, bit of coffee, roastiness. Taste is full of roasted coffee, bit of dark chocolate and a slightly herbal aftertaste. Real prickle in the mouth, and a spicy buzz. Nice and thick oily texture and pleasant bitter finish.

Bottle brought back from Japan by my awesome cousin. Pours a pitch black cola colour. Small dark tan head, clingy lacing spots on the walls of the glass. Aroma is dark chocolate malt, coffee. Tastes much the same as Ive described for smell, coffee, dark chocolate, malt, slightly bitter. Quite enjoyable.
