330ml bottle from Yamaya Nagahoribashi, Osaka, Japan (¥410):
Great stuff again from Minoh & another beer from the brewery that I'd happily have again, it was especially good when compared to other darker Japanese beers that I've tried. The beer opened with some excellent roasted malts & an earthy bitterness that was coupled with some sweetness & vanilla flavouring further on; definitely a beer that I'd have again if it was available outside of Japan.

Drinked in bottle. On the nose bitter milk chocolate, some sweet liquirice and toasted caramel. In mouth is medium light bodied, very very balanced, a sweet toasted flavour invide your mouth the after taste is long and smooth with a bitter end. Very good

Bevuta in bottiglia. Colore marrone scuro quasi impenetrabile. Schiuma fine colore cappuccino. Carbonazione media. Al naso nota torreffatta è do caffè ben marcate. In bocca poco dolce mentre il tostato lo sento bene e ti lascia un piacevole finale secco. Corpo medio.

Bottle. Very dark brown, average to large and mostly diminishing lasting brown head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, some roastiness, light coffee - faint licorice and light hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light roastiness and light coffee with faint licorice, light hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dryish - lightly sweetish, light - some roastiness and light coffee with faint licorice, light hoppyness. Nice roasted stout - not too sweet. Body is bit thin. Nice head though.

I always find this beer at the supermarket by the Tokyo Dome Aqua. Lovely black with a deep russet head, aroma of caramel, chocolates, flavour of dark chocolates, soy sauce, a touch of vanilla, woody, and a good deal of salted caramel and not a touch of coffee. Nice, creamy, almost oily feel, this is super easy to drink and it has become my favourite Japanese stout.,

On tap at 100K. Pours a pitch black color with a medium white head. A light roasted nose. Huge roast, ashy, chocolate, quite nice.

Draft at Smith St Taps, Singapore. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, caramel, chocolate and coffee. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth roasty, burnt toffee, liquorice, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

asedzie (832) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 5, 2017
Pours black with beige head. Nose is roasted notes and coffee flavors. Tastes a bit lighter than the aroma suggested - mild roasted barley with some hints of smoke and a little soft herbs on the finish.

Bottle. Black with virtually no head.Slightly dry and rather malty.A very well balanced stout which was a pleasant surprise. A new brewery for me.
