Plum/raisin aromas. Strong sour plum taste, even gets close to a real umeshu liquor drink, quite acid but fun drink for the summer. Heavy aftertaste, a bit too sweet. KansaiBeerLvrs (5191) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 15, 2013
6% On tap at the GJBF Osaka. An incredibly clear light gold pour with minimal head. The aroma is kind of lactic, very sour plum notes which for some reason reminded me of that sweet plum sauce you get at chinese restaurants to dip your egg rolls in. The flavor is tart & sour but very pleasant for a warm summer day. Not something you want a whole lot of, a half pint is probably enough but worth trying out. Draught at the Tanabata Beer Festival 2013. Very pale gold with a fine head. Looks a bit like ginger ale. Nose of vinegar, ume plums, yogurt, funk. Not a very appealing nose. Flavor us better: sweet-and-sour plums, vinegar, yogurt, honey. Interesting. A bit too sweet, but quite refreshing and interesting.
