The ancient legends that abound the Russian Imperial Stout of yore are filled with tempestuous romance, sinful thievery, and scurvy, too. So highly regarded was this historic recipe, the Russian Kings tried to keep it all to themselves. They failed. Today we bring you our own dastardly dark version, with a rich and roasty aroma, notes of plum and port and a velvety texture so luscious it just might make a grown man weep.

In Bar Viriato. At lunch, with Pedro, Miguel, and David. With Papas Bravas. Soft taste and easy to drink, which makes it very dangerous because of its high ABV. However, Id prefer a bit more body

22 bomber to cervoise. Pours black with brown ringed head. Aroma of Hersheys syrup, oak, light cinnamon, marshmallow, coffee and caramel. Taste is same with slight whiskey heat, raisins, grenadine, and some smoke. The finish is a little brash with booze, and cough syrup-like grenadine. Mouthfeel is medium-heavy, oily...with light carb.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured thick, black and oily with an exceptionally dark brown head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was strong toasty malts, anise, whiskey, chocolate syrup, marshmallow and floral hops. The flavor was anise, whiskey, wood, chocolate syrup, marshmallow, port wine adn crisp floral hops. Intense and strong flavors. Long finish. Full body - thick and creamy. Fantastic.
