At Craft & Draft. Dark oily pour. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, cacao and cream. Taste is thick, with heavily roasted malt, cacao, coffee, mild licorice, bitters and a sticky mouthfeel. Nice ris. 77ships (10770) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 21, 2015
355 ml. bottle. BBF 05/2016. Finally Pirate themed beer. Typical (for the style) black with mocha head (which doesn’t last) beer. Nose is charcoal mixed with sweet mocha, light nuts, artificial chocolate, almost touch herbal mainly sweet candy mocha mixed with some light roasted malts & ashes. Taste is strongly powdery overly ashy, strong ashy roasted coffee, faintly herbal some mocha & cheap chocolate sweetness in the back, light roasted nuts, touch chestnuts. Body is a bit thin, roasted, touch ashy. Not bad at all as a beer but low on the totem pole for a RIS. Neorej80 (498) - - OCT 21, 2015
Strong grapy and daek chocolate aroma with malts, vanilla and a little coffee. Pitch black with a tiny dark brown head. Nice smooth creamy, nutty, chocolate aroma (like nuttulla) at the start, a sharp (mint/licorice) yeasty and oaky bite. Then roasted dry malts, bbq, pinetree, licorice and a tiny hint of bitter citrus/lime. Woody, earthy grapy aftertaste. Really great!! voyageurmike (500) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 6, 2015
Opaque black with dark tan head, brandy aroma. Coffee, anise, roasted malts. Alcohol malty lingering finish. Not refined perhaps, but lots to like in this RIS. JefVerstraete (3556) - Oosterzele, BELGIUM - OCT 4, 2015
Bottle from Dranken Geers. Dark brown, brown foam. Medium carbonation. Sweet with nose of caramel, roasted malts and coffee. Also some chocolate. Little bit weak but good!

Just what you would expect for a top notch RIS, heaps of coffee and chocolate with the roasted malts, also has hints of Brandy. Very dark, opaque, quickly fading light brown head. Rich roasted malts, chocolate covered cherry, Espresso, warming alcohol. Smooth texture, rich and chewy, really good, should we call this a dessert beer? antonstoop (296) - - SEP 21, 2015
Bottle 355ml. Black appearance with a dark brown head. Nose is dark chocolate, coffee, prunes, and blackberries in the nose. Medium full body with an average carbonation. Pretty well balanced- moderate high sweetness and bitterness. Lots of chocolate, dark fruit, roasted malts and some light vegetables. The booze isn’t too much. Pretty decent stout!

Bottle. Almost black, opague. Roast, licorice and coffee in the aroma. Full bodied. Malty sweet alcoholic roasty flavor with ash, licorice and coffee. Rich in flavor and aroma. Lacks some complexity however. Yorker (2031) - Holstebro, DENMARK - SEP 10, 2015
33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, cocoa, ash, chocolate, and coffee - with a roasted finish. josanguapo (1858) - SPAIN - SEP 10, 2015
In Bar Viriato. At lunch, with Pedro, Miguel, and David. With Papas Bravas. Soft taste and easy to drink, which makes it very dangerous because of its high ABV. However, Id prefer a bit more body
