COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The ancient legends that abound the Russian Imperial Stout of yore are filled with tempestuous romance, sinful thievery, and scurvy, too. So highly regarded was this historic recipe, the Russian Kings tried to keep it all to themselves. They failed. Today we bring you our own dastardly dark version, with a rich and roasty aroma, notes of plum and port and a velvety texture so luscious it just might make a grown man weep.

Bottled. Pours oily black with deep red-brown head and medium carbonation. Smoky chocolate aroma with anise, pancake batter and dark fruits. Flavor leans similar with a nice bitter finish. Moderately balanced. Enjoyable.

Black pour with a brown head. The aroma is full of light licorice with some chocolate and roasted malt thrown in. The flavor has some strong chocolate character as well as some roasted malt and some cream notes. Medium carbonation and thick mouthfeel.

Bottle poured a brown so dark it has a black hue w/ a dark brown medium frothy head. Big roasty aroma of molasses and coffee. Initial flavor is moderate sweet with a moderate bitter from the heavy roast. Tastes are molasses, brown sugar, espresso, and dried prunes. Full bodied, soft carbonation, and alcohol in the finish.

This is one of the darker beers I’ve ever had. It’s almost syrupy. Lots of chocolate and coffee aromas. This one is almost too much to handle.

Rich, coffee and chocolate. Sweet smelling yet bold in taste. Not a great head, but good luck lacing. Smoothe and thirst-quenching.

Poured from a bottle. Black color, no head. Acrid roasted malt smell. Tangy roasted malt flavor.

Not my type of beer. Way too much of a coffee flavour for me. And it tastes thick like a smoothy.

Jet black, dark head. Big nose, coffee beans, semisweet chocolate. Roasted coffee, wood, faint hops, lactose. A bit of mint on an enjoyable finish. Very good irs
