COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our award winning Hefeweizen is one of the breweries most popular selections. Unlike the lemon-laden wheat beers that flood market today, Mission Hefeweizen is a true example of a classic Bavarian Hefeweizen - exhibiting a wonderful bouquet of clove, banana, pear, among other aromas and flavors which make this beer a refreshing and full flavored brew. Make no mistake there is no fruit in this beer. The complex and flavorful character of our Hefeweizen is achieved by the authentic Bavarian yeast strain employed in its production. 15 IBU

Palm Springs, Ca - Grinds Burger Bar - on tap. Medium gold pour, light off-white head. Aroma of clove and bananas. Flavor has some coriander accents, a touch of bubble gum, some gumball sweetness. Thick enough mouthfeel. Decent.

Date tasted: July 6, 2013... Glassware: weizen glass... Occasion: mucho food o at Jim and Marias annual 4th (6th) of July party....Appearance: thick, foamy head that recedes to a single finger of white cloud; body is sunset orange with thick chunks of sediment sailing up and down its coast--a yeasty depot at the glasss bottom... Aroma: banana and clove, as the bottle promises; yeasts are soft, less doughy than expected... Palate: medium-bodied, teethy impact on the mouth; a pleasant presence that doesnt dominate--acidic, too... Taste: VERY subtly in its profile; the banana acquiesces and the clove is a gentle tickle at the throat--no problems, but not outstanding... Overall: smooth and useful, this hefe is indeed NOT a lemon-suds extravaganza, as its label warns its peers have become; its heft and subtlety make adding a lemon possible but negotiable; cant see this on par with any real German offering, but the price was right....

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow color with almost no head. Typical hefewiezen aroma of banana, wheat, and yeast. Taste is much the same. Wheat, bananas, yeast, and hints of citrus.

The aroma is not exactly as I expected but not bad it does have a malty/wheaty thing with some coriander and banana. There is also a salty cracker with cheese in it. The taste is like the aroma. The appearance is cloudy gold with a thin head. The palate is smooth. Overall its rather dry and oddly salty for the style but not necessarily bad.

12 oz bottle. A ultra thin head develops on top of a murky golden body before quickly fading completely away. Not the most appealing appearance. The aroma is what youd expect from a standard hefe: banana, clove, yeast, some wheat. The flavor, again, consists of banana and cloves. It definitely also has a juicy fruit bubblegum thing going on, with yeast, and spices towards the back end. This really lacks the softness you get from the better Hefeweizens. Its fizzy in the mouth; the carbonation is too lively. Certainly not a bad beer but theres just nothing here to make me want to get it again.
