Our award winning Hefeweizen is one of the breweries most popular selections. Unlike the lemon-laden wheat beers that flood market today, Mission Hefeweizen is a true example of a classic Bavarian Hefeweizen - exhibiting a wonderful bouquet of clove, banana, pear, among other aromas and flavors which make this beer a refreshing and full flavored brew. Make no mistake – there is no fruit in this beer. The complex and flavorful character of our Hefeweizen is achieved by the authentic Bavarian yeast strain employed in its production. 15 IBU

Draft to taster. Looks decent; a transparent gold with white lacing. Smells yeasty and spicy with notes of banana and clove. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. An okay hefe.

Draft sample. Poured an hazy orange color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate citrus, banana and clove aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft beer.

a pretty decent american hefe, possibly a bit heavier on the yeasty sourdough-ness than i was expecting. otherwise probably one i would happily reach for again in the future.

Drought. Very pale yellow color and quite clear for a hefeweizen. Off-white creamy small head, citrus aroma, fizzy with a bitter tang of citrus peel, long finish. Not particularly inspiring

On tap at Hops & Pie. Pour is hazy orange in appearance with a big white head and great lacing. Big banana, clove, light bubblegum, biscuity, somewhat citrusy, a touch orange peel, and straw in the aroma. Taste is big banana and bubblegum - light clove, coriander, a hint of vanilla, straw, and grass. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Pretty tasty Hefe.

Not bad hefe flavors. Very tart and syrupy feeling. The sweetness is there and stickiness that I like in the hefes but its a little bit forced and doesnt blend as nicely. Tough to find a good american made hefe, and this one is better than most but still just ok at best.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (flowers), with a strong note of banana, light notes of pepper and clove. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Meh. Ok aroma, but very banana-heavy and a tad husky. Very syrupy sweet in the mouth without much to balance. Not a good example of the style.

12 oz bottle pours a hazy golden with a tiny white head. Big hit of banana runts and clove on the nose with a hint of isovaleric in the background. Flavor is light, nice banana and clove, a little yeasty. Has a bit of a metallic finish, but not overpowering. Quite nice.

lightly cloudy golden wheat body with a small white head. your typical banana and clove bouquet with a lot of fruity esters and a moderate dose of dish soap and sulfur. medium-light body, mildly chewy, medium sweetness, low bitterness, medium-low acid, light huskiness. yeasty and muddled with little vibrancy or yeast expression. a very forgettable weizen with nothing to bring me back. a sad miss from these otherwise talented brewers.

12oz bottle poured into glass. Nice aroma of banana and slight herbal tea. Flavor is clean and crisp with hints of wheat and citrus.
