A style of beer curiously born on the foggy shores of Father Junipero Serra’s first founding mission. Our own vigorous entry is one rebellious IPA, quick on the trigger, and brimming with a bounty of hop ingenuity. This is a big, bold, brazen beer, a restless vision of a new America.

Pours dark orange with a thin tan head. Citrus(oranges) and caramel malt dominate the nose, with a hints of pine, alcohol and bread. Flavor is mOre malt than hops, but finishes very bitter and wade from the alcohol. Good beer not great.

kaser (6209) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 17, 2013
This is a huge beer. Poured from 12 oz bottle. Dark orange and clear with hardly any head. Grapefruit aroma. Big pallette. Citrus and syrupy. Just a big IPA. Pretty good

Majin (256) - West Des Moines, Iowa, USA - APR 15, 2013
Bottle - Pours lightly hazy amber with a thin off-white head. Nose is sweet and buttery, with lots of hops. Taste is sweet and sticky, with pine and light grass hops. Long, sweet and slick finish, with a big thick body. Perhaps this one wasn’t the freshest as I got it from the mix-6 section, but not sure. Just too sweet and sticky for my tastes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the 12 oz bottle. Pours a light brown with a thin white head. Big sticky malt body with a pungent resin hop taste. Big citrus and pine hop aroma, rather dank. Nice stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap. Pours a clear dark amber color with one finger of slightly off white head. Aroma of citrus, sweet malt, and some pine. Taste is very sweet malt with citrus almost being put in the background.

b3shine (8795) - Indiana, USA - APR 13, 2013
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent dark orange with foamy off-white head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells of sweet malt and hops (in that order. Tastes like it smells with an averafe mouthfeel. Okay beer, but nothing special.

notalush (5866) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 6, 2013
Hazy dark copper - low carbonation, oily texture - a lot or orange character throughout, but more like orange floor cleaner - a lot of butter in the nose and quite a bit in the flavor as well - abrasive throughout - very sweet - messy, and disappointing considering the quality of the ipa.

ADfan (870) - Orange County, California, USA - APR 6, 2013
Beer has a honey amber color with a small head. Aroma of tropical and fruit and some honey. Taste has resin, hops and some caramel. Rather unique taste for a DIPA.

shrubber85 (11322) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - APR 6, 2013
Bottle. Orange and peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with large head. Sweet orange and strong bitter orange peel flavor. Nice body.
