A nice-looking brew and bottle. Nothing much here for the nose. This is a sweet, smooth hefe, with some similarity to a lager. I prefer them drier myself, but this went down pretty well. There is a dash of citrus to this. It is kind of a Corona-like hefeweizen, if you can believe that. Pretty good. rumproasts (5470) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JAN 15, 2016
bottle. Golden with a light haze and one finger head. Aboverage for an American hefe, with moderate banana and light spice. Not as flavorful as some of the better German hefes, but this was a cheap bomber at Trader Joes, so it’s hard to talk much shit about it.

Good enough pour, fairly hazy, though not fully cloudy (not rousing the sediment) with a moderate white head with medium-to-medium-low retention.
Smells like tangerine, banana, strong cream of wheat and bubble gum in the nose. A little bit sloppy/aggressively estered and some definite alcohol and light metallic notes, but overall not to bad all things considered ($1.99 bomber....).
Simple in the flavor, with some honey and bread-like sweetness, but not cloying or syrupy, with ample carbonation and lots of orange, bubble gum and light banana. Some sharp, acidic and fusel-like notes with a touch of dirtiness, but certainly passable.
22 oz bottle pours a golden color with a nice white head. Aromas of light citrus, wheat and clove. Light bodied, very good.

Classic hefe banana aroma. Pours a hazy Yellow with lasting lacing. Taste is very clean, slightly dry and crisp, with notes of banana and clove.mouth feel isn’t as thick and furry as some; which is pleasant to an IPA drinker. Overall a well made and easy drinking hefe, a great way to start off a session

Bottle from Trader Joes. Pours a hazy orange-gold color with a thick white head. Aroma is of yeast with notes of clove and banana. The taste is clean with a light wheat note and some of the aromatics. A little carbonation but still a heavier mouthfeel. Not bad, but not my style. thecaseybrown (3) - Tennessee, USA - JUL 4, 2015 does not count
Not the best, couldn't tell if the one I had wasn't fresh or something. I tried turning the bottle over and letting the yeast float to the top. No dice. Wasn't very bold or refreshing in flavor

I didn’t realize these Mission St. beers were made by Firestone Walker - had I known, I probably would have avoided the Boatswain beers from Trader Joes I’ve been trying over the last couple of months - this is a nice example of the style - soft texture - a refreshing tartness that offsets the sweeter notes of the malt - understated, but present notes of clove, white pepper, finishing with mild esters - very good brew, especially at the price point. rubbishystuff (2537) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 25, 2015
Thanks to Dad. I was completely caught off guard. Some of the TJ stuff if not great and some just OK but this was a pretty damn good example of the style. Serving: Bottle beertholomeus (1813) - California, USA - APR 23, 2015
Pours a clear golden color with a frothy white head. Wheat, yeast, clove and bubblegum aroma and flavors. Light body and moderate carbonation. Yeast and bubblegum finish. A little bland but not bad.
