COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dating back to 18th century England, the custom of blending pale and dark beers has kept the "Black & Tan" a favorite of experienced beer drinkers for centuries. Our famous recipe combines a robust English Porter with a fine Continental Pilsner, preserving the character of each, while creating the classic taste of the legendary "Black & Tan." In true American style, we bring you the best of both beers as they meet in Mississippi Mud.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 9, 2007
(Bottle 94,6 cl) Clear, warm, dark, amber golden with a dense, creamy, off-white laces. Lightly acidic, caramelish aroma. Thin and sloppy body with notes of sour/sweet caramel malt and some cardboard. Basically no bitterness. Not much of a Porter - not much of a beer really. Best thing about this is the fake "ceramic" quart bottle and then its cheap price of $3. 260307

Bottled. Nut brown. Yeasty nose. Some toffee and roastiness, but it's completely dominate by sharp, thin, metallic emptiness. An expensive drain pour!

Bottle at Pats birthday tasting at chrisos. Thanks, Caspar, for this gem. Pours clear amber with a foamy head. Some toasty caramel in the nose with light leaves. Medium sweet flavor, more caramel, other dark malts, sugar. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly sticky sweet finish, dark malts. Meh. Nifty bottle, though.
