Sample at the Northport location. Cloudy brown color with a medium frothy light beige head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Short stringy lacing on the glass. Roast malt, chocolate and a bit of hops in the nose. Light-bodied with a sweet chocolate and malt character, with a touch of earthy hops in the background. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Nice brown. Aroma is sweeter than expected. The nut taste is medium and holds its own. It’s not sweet even though it smells as such. Color is a great brown. Feel is perfect. Fresh and full. Tap at brewery.

Gimmethefunk (16) - Portage, Michigan, USA - MAR 22, 2014
On tap at brewpub. Pours a murky brown with a khaki 1-2 finger head. Aroma is dominated by chocolate malts with some caramel malt aromas. Taste is predominantly chocolate with some roasted malt and mineral flavors rounding things out. Mouthfeel is what killed this beer for me. It was thin and watery, not what i would expect from a beer that smells and tastes so much like chocolate.

esjaygee (3906) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 30, 2013
On tap at the Mitten brewpub. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, peanut shells and some bready notes. Taste is sweet with nuts, malt, caramel and mild chocolate. Finishes sweet and semi-astringent.
