Yields a bright golden, completely filtered beer, with a small, white head on it, which immediately disappears. Smells of young hay with a wet tang to it, together with soft white bread malts, rolled in rock sugar. Has a lively, yet fuller mouthfeel, pleasantly smoothed out by the effervescent, refreshing finish. Tastes of dried garden herbs, sugar sprinkeled white bread dough, and an uprising toffee malt sweetness. Malts define the finish, which does not turn overly sweet, due to a mineralic quality from the bubbly carbonation, toning it down to the level of the more subtle appearing hay. Refreshing and well balanced, with an effective use of the higher carbonation level, which holds to the malts in balance while providing the beers bright and rustic character.

Bottle from a bottle shop in Germany. Light smell, some fruits, slight artificial. Similar taste. Tastes like an industrial lager.

Draft at Schatten. Crystal clear golden color, white ice cream cone head. Aroma of papery white pepper. Taste is lightly bitter lemony straw. One of our least favorites helles beers of the trip.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe: poured (three times) into an old stemmed Pilsner glass that I like to use for tastings. 9th Jan 2016 and I am having a four beer Bavarian tasting session with myself and no one else. I know hell is light in German but this is uber hell, very light indeed. Slight grain aroma and taste with a hop bitterness later in the mouth. Do not pretend this has flavour and depth. It is refreshing and clean tasting but has no real beer like taste or character. A sunshine beer, not a cold, wet winters night one: scored objectively and kindly.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2016 Tasted skunked in the classic cheap larger style. Can imagine it being decent fresh from the tap though. It has a sweetness to it, but too many skunk bready notes coming through. It has a distinctive taste Macro larger. Think Bitburger with added sweetness and a touch more complexity. Its nothing special, not even close to being. But its passable.
