Moa Breakfast is a European style beer brewed with a blend of premium wheat malt and a variety of floral hops. A very refreshing lager with an abundance of cherry character and aromas, Moa Breakfast is more commonly enjoyed as a mid-afternoon beverage here in New Zealand. Although not always.

Tasting Notes
Moa Breakfast is a wheat beer based lager with a subtle, sweet cherry aroma and taste. Hints of almond, banana and vanilla characters can also be detected. Low bitterness levels and an absence of strong malt characters emphasise these fruit flavours. Moa Breakfast can either be poured carefully off the lees or alternatively with the lees mixed in if a stronger yeast character is desired. Moa Breakfast is best served at approximately 4°C in a pilsner glass.

lusikka (7819) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 20, 2013
375 ml bottle @ HBF2013. Pours a clear golden colour with a white head. Aroma is rather strong and pungent with dried apricot, mango and citrus. Flavour of sweet fruits, floral hops, mango and passion fruit. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a fruity finish with some pungent notes. Refreshing stuff.

laiti (8484) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 20, 2013
37,5 cl bottle @ HBF
Aroma has fruit candy and quite nothing else. Flavour is odd – feels like gummy bears in water. Also some grainy feeling. Weird stuff, this has lots of fruit candy but does not feel sweet.

kidmartinek (5001) - austin, Texas, USA - APR 8, 2013
Ruby golden ale. White head. Aroma is like mixed fruit juice, mostly orange with some cranberry or something. Flavor is fruity and at times is good but at others seems chemy or glue-like. Having this breakfast is not a great idea but it doesn’t necessarily suck either.

Bottle from Aurora brew works. Slightly hazed blond pour. Puke and cherry aroma, cherry flavor, medium mouthfeel. Decent fruit beer

blutt59 (6572) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 6, 2013
Bottle at btbf, slight cloudy yellow color with wheat and strawberry saccharine flavor, aroma of fruity pebbles

fake cherries and a bit of wheatiness. a bit artificial but awfully easy to drink. not too bad.

TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 2, 2013
12 oz bottle. Hazy orange with a lacy white head. Nose is cherry Life Savers with hints of banana and plastic. Medium light with a soft tingle. Taste is herbal cherry and candi with a dry, minerally finish. Not a bad choice for a brunch cocktail.

JFGrind (2057) - Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Strong citrus aroma, that gave off a secondary aroma of cigarettes. Yeah, like somebody had just smoked. Neon yellow body, foamy white head throughout the ample. Can’t remember if I ever had a beer from New Zealand. This was a strange fruit beer, it had a touch of chalkiness to it.

BillKismet (4090) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Highly carbonated tang-colored, lush, lacy cover that drapes the glass. Aroma of Flintstone multi-vitamins with a definite citrus influence. Orange wheaty body, again with some vitamin-like chalkyness to it. Artificial cherry and cardboard notes. Tangy bubblegum finish.

floydian1 (1477) - FNQ, Australia, - MAR 8, 2013
375ml corked and wired dark green bottle. Appears hazy bright yellow with a pillowy loose white head. Nose is lemon sherbet with hints of cherry and banana. Taste is sweet sherbet lemon with the cherries coming through at the end. Low bitterness and malt character. Quite light bodied for the ABV which probably suits the style but it still somehow feels artificial. A largely failed experiment in my opinion.
