COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Breakfast is a European style beer brewed with a blend of premium wheat malt and a variety of floral hops. A very refreshing lager with an abundance of cherry character and aromas, Moa Breakfast is more commonly enjoyed as a mid-afternoon beverage here in New Zealand. Although not always.

Tasting Notes
Moa Breakfast is a wheat beer based lager with a subtle, sweet cherry aroma and taste. Hints of almond, banana and vanilla characters can also be detected. Low bitterness levels and an absence of strong malt characters emphasise these fruit flavours. Moa Breakfast can either be poured carefully off the lees or alternatively with the lees mixed in if a stronger yeast character is desired. Moa Breakfast is best served at approximately 4C in a pilsner glass.

Location: 12.7 oz cork and caged bottle from Total Wine-McLean, 2/5/13

Aroma: The nose is extremely sweet, with lots of fruit on the nose: berries, cherries, etc
Appearance: It pours a hazed golden-orange color with a small froth of white head
Flavor: It tastes rather sweet, but it has enough of something to keep the sweetness a little in balance
Palate: The body is fairly light, it clean feel, soft-to-average carbonation, and is minimally cloying
Overall Impression: I figured Id drink this one "mid-afternoon," since that is the time it is most commonly enjoyed. Anyway, this is an interesting one. It is rather sweet and fruity, which is not something I always enjoy, but the fruitiness works pretty well here. Overall, a very solid fruit beer. Even though it is sweet, the sweetness isnt too cloying. Nicely done. I could see drinking this one for breakfast.

Corked bottle. Poured a hazy golden color with an averaged sized head. This one was weird. Was getting fruity pebbles and just couldnt get past that. Artificial sugary fruity pebbles.

Shared 12.7 oz. bottle. Pours a clear straw with a white head. Medium to high carbonation. Nose is black cherry soda with licorice notes. Taste is not as sweet as the nose would indicate. Cherry, faint apple, and wheat. A medicinal finish not unlike watered-down cough syrup. Refreshing. Overall, its fine for a day at the beach and I wouldnt turn it down if it was offered.

Aroma: extremely sweet cherry candy nose; unlike any beer Ive had; Appearance: pale straw with thin white head that dissipates quickly; Taste: not nearly as sweet as aroma, but kind of like a hybrid between 7 Up and beer. Pretty refreshing. Palate: light bodied with medium cherry sweet finish; Overall: definitely different but would buy again for a hot summer day. Too bad its retired.

Bottle. Clear golden pour, with a white head. Sweet and fruity, but still clean and drinkable. Pineapple, cherry, cantaloupe, light wheat grain, and slightly tart. Medium spritzy light body. Decent.
