got on tap at the volstead, not much information seems to be around about this beer, but apparently it’s an evolution of the old moa quad. explodes with sultanas and alcohol, and those two aromas and flavours tend to overwhelm everything else. very rich and sweet. is rather brash and aggressive, but gets nicer as it warms up after coming out of the cold tap. hint of molasses as suggested on the tap description after a while. not too bad but a bit rough. Jesus Christofferson, I ordered a pint of this and was given one, when all around were drinking out of much more sensible stemmed (smaller glasses). It didn’t enjoy being poured from gasflow as there was minimal head on a clear rosy-amber body. Aromas of rosehip, floral things and rich fruity malts. Flavours reflect all of this along with a typically rich sultana and plum note from the higher alcohol content. This is a bloody good drop and it only got better as I got further down the pint. I put this down to it coming up to around 9 degrees celcius from its pourage of 3-4. Or that I was warming up as well.
