Black pour with a reddish/purple hue to it. Head is typical dark brown and a little small. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, floral hops, some dark fruit. Flavor is lots of dark fruit and cream. Cherries, plums and grapes. Coffee and cocoa bitterness come in and out.. A little boozy in the back. Big grassy, floral hop flavor and bitterness in the finish as well. Palate is rich and creamy. Carbonation is definitely low but not too low. Chocolate covered raisins here and there. Lots going on and each flavor is really enjoyable. Manages to straddle that line between drinkable and rich and complex. It really has both going for it. I’d have estimated closer to 8% than 10. Dark brown pour huge head. Aroma of acid, wine barrels, cola. Tastes like artificial raspberry flavor, char. Slimey thick palate yet acidic. Deviates strongly from stout character. On tap. Pours a solid black with a brown head and lacing. It has a great aroma with smokey wood, chocolate and coffee. The flavor is more chocolate and coffee and a bit of the smokiness and some hop bitterness, all over a heavy body with a rich finish. omega (900) - NEW ZEALAND - FEB 15, 2014

Bottled. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma is fruity, winey, has some roast. Black coloured with a medium, beige head. The taste is a bit fruity, hs chocolate, roast, some oak, some coffee beans, chocolate and a more bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, alcohol - whisky, wood. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, alcohol, roasted, smoke - wood notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. 
On tap at Riverview. Poured dark brown with wisps of cream head. Aroma of fruit and oak. Light carb med bod. Smokey taste slight bitter.
