COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Methode Pilsner is a clean, crisp lager with a dry finish. A late throw of Pacifica and Motueka hops gives some upfront citrus aromatics, and the champagne yeast used in secondary fermentation imparts complex spicy characters.

Tasting Notes
Moa Methode is a German style pilsner with a high bitterness balanced with a relatively full mouth feel. Citrus hop characters dominate aroma with the presence of fresh bread yeast notes. It can either be poured carefully off the lees or alternatively with the lees mixed in if a strong yeast character is desired. Moa Methode is a complex pilsner best served in a pilsner glass at approximately 6˚C to maximise aromatic release.

Yellow gold with a decent thick white head. Citrus lemon and spice dominant in aroma, some bready yeast notes there too. Crisp bitterness and light sour bread. Light pepper, spice and citrus finish, great refreshing pils.

This was served as a palate cleanser after some pretty headstrong fresh hopped IPAs and a 16% imperial stout. Hardly surprising that it stacked up like a dandelion in a hurricane. It did cleanse the palate, I guess, but was entirely forgettable.

On tap at Moa. Biscuit, tart lemon, floral. Quite cloying, pretty much the opposite of crisp. Not great.

A nice beer to enjoy in small or medium quantities. One of the better beers available in New Zealand for any such occasion. Not too overpowering for a German style pilsner which is very pleasing.

12.7 oz. bottle. Gold color with a huge foamy white head that exhibits excellent retention. Heavy lacing. Aroma of pils malt, citrus and spice. Taste follows nose. Orange peel and bread. Finish is lightly bitter, peppery and dry. Good.

Draft: Very mild lemongrass nose. Cloudy amber, headless. Honey, corn, some DMS, grass. Medium body, easy carbonation. Drinks stronger than an ordinary pils, more like an IPL. Probably past its prime.

Bottle at the Pumphouse, Richmond, corked
Deep blond color, hazy, with medium sized head. Pilsner? Tastes like a dry and spicy Ale, bitter, also some esters, a bit of cork that complements the flavor.
Nice.

330 ML bottle Just a slight bit of haze but otherwise a nice straw yellow color. Bright white head that slowly falls to a thick collar. Nice strips of lacing. Nose is bright lemon peel and bread. Kind of like salted sea in some ways. Very bright and slightly grassy. Taste is lemon and bread. Some sharp notes of hops to this right off the bat but mellow out into lemon bread. Crisp with a very nice lingering bitterness. Well made and very solid

Pours a hazy yellow gold with a tight but thin layer of white. Grassy, minty and herbal nose with a hint of lime and lemon peel, and lavender. Ipressive. A mouthful of juicy hops prevails. Minty rose petal mid-palate with a penetrating, floral sharpness. It is assertively bitter in the back with a leafy, grassy finish matched by tight, supple citrus. Carbonation is low and it comes off as creamy in mouthfeel but light in the stomach to warrant another. There is a light perfume mixed amongst a clean grain profile. It is clean as a whistle for a bottle conditioned lager. This is great drinking. With a little warmth to it it opens up even further. A very tasty pilsner. (33cL, BB 05/12/16, Dan Murphys, Canning)
