Visual: (cellared for 4 years). Hefty quality bottle, aluminum foil wrapped, twisty steel cap, real cork. Pours dark cola brown with a smallish 1mm dissipating head, a thin micro layer of retention, scattered sporadic streams.
Nose: cocoa light roast grainy barley malt, toffee undertones. (lvl-6)-pungency
Attack: crisp, slight tanginess
Mid-palate: wet cork, background mild sour, (lvl-2-sweetness), grainy dry roasted barley malt,
Finish: mild coffee bean exhale, dry cocoa
Summary: There's a bit of cork flavour as well a background sourish note that distracts from the roasted malt experience. Overall the body and dark notes are good, but it seems acidic notes aren't quite in harmony. Decent, but not great. alexsdad06 (11223) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - AUG 20, 2016
Bottle picked up at Party Source from notes. Pours brown with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, chocolate, watery coffee, mild earth, thin, just ok and not something that I would do again. GuideDogSaint (1809) - Xiamen, CHINA - APR 17, 2016

750ml bottle found in rural Alberta, no it ain’t retired as far as I can tell, though maybe this is on the way out and remaining stocks will just be depleted. Pours with modest slightly creamy head and swampy brown body that bodes plenty of carbonation. Soft hay and malt aroma, barn funk and hazelnut kinda. Flavour is an earthy nut with hints of malty caramel and said barn funk. Like sucking on a plank of wood from the barn that the cows had lived in. Medium finish, could use a little more presence on the mouth. Hefty and I like the earthy tones. Too bad it’s having a retirement party. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - SEP 24, 2015

Very heavily carbonated with a very heavy white frothy head. Body is dark brown and opaque. Aroma is sweet with a nutty sweet (hints of anaise). Taste is sweet but rather plain.

Bottle at catch 22 bottle share! Pours a deep brownish black with bubbly white head. Aroma and taste of oxidized malt and stale fruit, past its prime for sure. tdtm82 (1701) - Essex, ENGLAND - APR 7, 2015

750ml corked bottle pours a dark brown color with a 2 finger beige head that retains well and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild chocolate with some grass and grains. Taste is a grassy hop bitterness with a light chocolate malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Average at best for the style. Definitely, not one of my favorites.
