COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa South Pacific I.P.A. is a New Zealand take on a popular North American beer style. Using famous Cascade and Nelson Sauvin hops, the dominant features in this beer are unique to New Zealand and the Moa bottle conditioned brewing method. Its hoppy strength displays powerful floral, citrus and tropical notes backed up with a strong malt backbone.

Bottle - pours hazy golden orange with a frothy white head. Lot of fruit on the aroma, caramel malt and hop resin. Some fruit on the taste, even bitterness, taste doesnt fulfil the promise of the aroma.

Up there with the Moa Southern Alps White IPA as my favourite beer of all time. Very strong but just as pleasant. The citrus notes are wonderful, its almost enough to put you off buying from any other brewery again.

Bottle (labeled as MOA Pale Ale); pours cloudy orangish gold with an off white head; fruity aroma with notes of grass, malt, and floral; taste is slightly bitter with citrus fruits and some malt and pine hints; finish has the same light bitterness and bit of citrus tartness; nothing special

From a bottle. A well made and classic example of the style, lots of hops but balanced with nice biscuit malt body.

Bottle. Erupted. Dirty bronze, little light protrudes. Big pile of foam. Earthy nose, bordering on the sour. Drinks with a funky essence without seeming infected. Not what Id expected. Without a date stamp, Id call it "rural." (#6143, 2/27/2016)

330ml bottle at Beer station, Xiamen on 16 Jan. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma of citrus and fruit. Very bitter finish. No pine in this one, a little different but nice.

From a 330ml bottle on 2/1/2015. Pours a murky dark golden with a biggish head. Has a light aroma of caramel and biscuit malt, along with a bit of fruit. Flavour wise, theres some sweet citrus fruit which is quickly bludgeoned into submission by a very firm, quite salty bitterness. Not much else is going on. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A bit blunt and agricultural. Quite disappointing.
