Very disappointing. I guess I’m not the target market, being a hop-head, but this was barely drinkable. Sickly sweet and caramel flavours with dominant alcohol. Hazy golden with thin head. Floral , malty aroma with notes of grape, alcohol and bubblegum. Yeast , spices , fruits ... Looks like a good taste , but sweetness is overwhelming as for tripel. Muzzahops (2) - NEW ZEALAND - MAR 13, 2015 does not count

Bottle into small tulip glass. Basic hop nose. Cloudy amber with lasting white head. Champagne carbonation. Smooth caramel taste. Finish is smoky/sour with alcohol notes. Raisins present. Not really my thing.

Pours cloudy orange-gold with small white that leaves nice lacing and skim.
Aroma is tangy orange, wood, candy, spice. Taste follows with peppery clove notes bursting through the sweet fruit. There’s a bit of heat, but good brewing technique makes it seem organic from spices rather than a function of the alcohol.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy dirty orange with a small beige head. Nose brings out Belgian spices, Belgian yeast, and some light fruity esters. Flavour is on the sweeter side, with candied sugar, Belgian yeast, and smoky phenols. Not the most complex tripel, but certainly not bad. Decent. closey22 (1945) - Mt. Pours a hazy gold with bright white, semi-long lasting head. Aroma is all phenols and citrus. Starts with cloves then anise and finally orange zest. Flavor is of an intense phenolic yeastiness common to Belgian yeast strains. In the back is alcohol and more citrus along with some malty sweetness. Finishing almost candy sweet, it doesn’t beg you to take another sip. My sample is quite fresh. Id give this one a year in the bottle for the flavors to meld and soften around the edges.
