On tap at Gordon Biersch SLC Airport, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma and flavour brings out bready malts, toasted caramel and light bitterness. Decent enough but very weak and watery. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - AUG 14, 2012
Can from a very generous trader. Douglas? I can’t remember. It’s been awhile. I didn’t realize this was a California Common until now. Thanks! Pours amber with white head. Nose/taste of toffee malt, toasted biscuit, bready malt and light spicy hops. Dry crisp finish. Medium body. bhensonb (15194) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 20, 2014
Can from Brewforia. Pours orange amber with a slight head. Aroma is pretty malty. Sort of towards roasty. Med body or nearly. Flavor is roasty malt with some fruit/floral notes, and something rendering it bitter. It’s not exactly dry, but seems hoppy and bitter in the finish. Decent drink. "A better than average for the style brew, this one has light floral hops and a slight sweetness, with the flavor profile being dominated by a light toastiness. Not bad."

16 oz can from Hayduke. Pours amber with a thick beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a mild brown lager flavor with a dry finish. onceblind (9674) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 3, 2014
Clear copper with a lasting foamy white head. The nose is a bit biscuity with some honey and toast and grassy hop notes. Mild fruity tones right at the front with a touch of pear and yellow apple mix with yeasty toast and bread dough, with a finish of earthy sweet toffee. Pretty neat and surpasses expectation. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 12, 2014
16oz can, from Perfect Pour in Elkridge. Shared with local raters. Darker hazy amber orange color. Thin off-white head. Dots of lace. Looks decent. Good caramel malt, some vanilla. Light bit of pepper. Kind of a malty sweeter taste. Medium body. Lightly slick texture. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Kind of creamy. Easy-enough to drink. Solid flavorful amber lager. Good bigger complex flavor to it, good sweetness. Could pass as a solid amber ale, really. 3fourths (9347) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 5, 2014
Soupy-goopy American amber malt dullness (amaretto / marzipan, caramel chew, toffee) with apple / pear esters as seen in so many Oktoberfest "lagers" which never see a day below 60 F. Nutty, woody, peppery and pithy hop bitterness with mothball and ethanol off-notes. Moderately carbonic / acidic and slightly lactic / yogurt-like starchy and bitter finish. Basic Amber ale disguised as a lager.
