Bottle. Chocolate malt aroma. Medium brown with moderate head. Lightly sweet chocolate and barley malt. Light body. Not bad but a bit light. Leighton (21296) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2013
Can in NYC with Chris. Pours clear, red-brown with a weak, fading tan head. Brown bread in the nose, hints of cocoa and earth. Light to medium sweet flavor with lightly toasted bread, some dry leaves. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, some earthy and leafy bitterness, toast. Pretty bland overall, though not offensive. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - FEB 16, 2013
It pours a cloudy dark brown with a good one inch foamy lumpy tan head. Foamy lacing is left around the sides of my nonic. The body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. The smell has the toasted oats and walnut up front with an ever so faint sense of hops in the background. The taste has the previously stated elements and combines some nice caramel tones. The palate is about a medium, slightly dry and a bit watery, but a decent watery. Overall, I was a bit skeptical in the beginning when I saw the price, but am glad I bought it to try a style I’m used to and like from a company I’ve never had any of their stuff. I’d probably have this again, but definitely as a novelty because of the price.

Very faint scent. Let it warm 10 degrees and still faint. Vague cocoa, chestnuts. Smooth, kind of plain brown ale taste. Lightly spicy. A small soapy/malty finish. Very sessionable, but on the uninteresting side. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - FEB 6, 2013
Can courtesy of AirForceHops. Nutty, chocolate malt, and very light roast coffee aroma. Clear chestnut with a medium creamy off-white head. Light chocolate, toasted nuts, and light coffee flavor. Medium body, moderate carbonation. This is an excellent brown ale, and very easy drinking. seth_lfod (325) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Pours a clear dark reddish brown with little head. Smells nutty with a malt and a bit of smoke. Taste is nutty with a nice mild malty flavor. A solid brown ale. MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - JAN 20, 2013
On tap at Eagle Mountain House in Jackson, NH.
Clear, warm rich brown with small khaki head and excellent lacing.
Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, nuts and toffee.
Taste of roasted malt, toast, coffee, nuts, light hops and caramel.
Mouthfeel and medium/high carbonation. Nice mouthfeel.
This is a quite decent brown ale. It does not suffer from being too thin or having an excess of on flavor. I had this beer 4 years ago and it was not nearly as good.

Pours clear amber with a huge tan head...nice retention and lacing. Aroma is nutty with touches of caramel and chocolate. Flavor is earthy/nutty with dry leaves and earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel is light...a little thin...with a bold roasty/earthy finish.
